1/01/21 (Was 5 stars) My mother just moved into La Costa Glen. Our sales person was Kathy and she was GREAT! This facility is the best. My mom couldn't be happier. It is very social and the staff are so so so helpful. Torrey and Melanie have gone above and beyond to help my mom. If you want a truly happy parent. This is the place for them! 1/21/2022 Updat on my review I previously gave them 5 stars. And for the most part they still offer 5 star activities, Ammenities, support, and friendly staff. Why I redused them to 3 stars is because of the food service. They have closed the dining room due to being short staffed. Higher temporary workers if you have to, but do not take away the most important amenity you offer.... When they closed the dining room durring the first covid scar, they delivered the bags of food to everyone. Now you have to go pick it up. Open the dining room. If it is a saftey issue then only allow folks who have been vaccinated in. But don't punish all for the few who have decided not to vaccinate. When the dining room is open and you get your food, they don't allow the residence to take their leftover food back to their room for a possible lunch the next day. If your only going to provide 1 meal a day then at least allow left overs to...
Read moreI moved into La Costa Glen (LCG) five weeks before the Covid-19 shut-down. I was able to meet several wonderful residents and keep in touch with them during the very trying time of Covid. However, the absolutely fabulous staff at LCG were able to change things up on a dime! A hotline was established for us to order our daily meal and it was delivered directly to our door nightly. They even started delivering little breakfast bags to help us stay out of grocery stores. The doorbell would ring several days a week with either the "ice cream cart", the "coffee & pastry cart" or the "Margarita cart!" Exercise equipment was moved outside, tents were erected to let us enjoy sitting in the shade (with our masks on!) exercise classes were run on our closed circuit TV to keep us fit. Forth of July was celebrated with a flat-bed truck driving through the campus with a band playing great patriotic music. My first year here was held in quarantine, but I could not have wished for a better place to get through it. Things are now getting back to "normal", and I am looking forward to many years of this wonderful service in the future. I am surely blessed to be in a...
Read moreMy husband and I visited 7 different retirement facilities around the San Diego area. When he suddenly passed away it was more important for me to intelligently choose the right place for me. Considering all the activities offered at La Costa Glen, the beautiful grounds, beautiful dining rooms and being one offramp from family. The choice was easy. I have now been here a little over 2 years and could not be happier. With Covid for such a long time the staff bent over backwards to make it as pleasant as possible. Food delivery to your door, ice cream 2 times a week, etc. etc. Make the move here while you can still enjoy life and make many friends for the day you...
