Dear Veronika,
What happened?! I tried to get a job with you when you were hiring back in autumn 2022. I remember you kept me for a VERY long interview (I was the applicant who brought a Fever Dreams shawl to show I was passionate about knitting and yarn retail) and I never got a call back even though you said you would give me an update via email. (Still have that email.)
I ended up moving back to the Navajo Nation (it's okay, plenty of yarn shops down here, especially those that supply the local Navajo weavers). I still liked your shop, which I understand you had acquired in 2019, so I went to go visit the Tolt website--nothing. Where is the website? I clicked on the website link to shop for yarn and patterns and the website was gone! I'm flabbergasted!
What is this I am seeing on IG about liquidation and a closure? The other yarnheads on IG and I feel we deserve more answers because we loved Tolt yarn and patterns and wish to know if you are returning to the business or if you are gone forever from indie yarn retail.
Hope you have a wonderful day. I'm still knitting...
Read moreI just stumbled upon this place while walking though the small town. There are a few restaurants and a few pubs. THIS PLACE, BY FAR, WAS THE MOST HAPPENING PLACE IN TOWN. I had never been to a yarn store, nor did I know what so many people and so many yarns; sizes, colors, from different regions. There was a table going on (come to find out if you knit, you can come to this table with other lovely ladies and they will help you if your stuck or you can sit around and mingle with other knitters around a wood fire ( okay probably a fake wood/ gas fireplace, but you get the idea). from there. The beginners classes have been full and I was to eager to wait. I went and the staff were so friendly to explain what things are and what the best for a beginner would be... needles and a "cake" of yarn. Sat down with the ladies and they taught me how to cast on and knit and purl. This is something I never say my self doing and yet I sit with young working ladies, mature outdoorsy ladies. It's great....
Read moreAbsolutely great place to get your wool yarn! The store representatives are incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. They know all of the ins and outs to their yarns and can happily provide suggestions based on weights, textures, thicknesses, etc. They are also avid knitters who have a wealth of knowledge to share! You'll also see booklets around the store that provide you with the information (what's needed, what knowing pattern, etc) on how to knit a particular item. If the store representations nor the booklets give you the answer there store will also have a small selection of books to help you out! Lastly, they also have formal and informal classes/knowing sessions that teach and otherwise help you out with your project. Absolutely great people here! Parking is available across the street in an unmarked gravel...
