So amazed at this shop! I was in the Durham area to check out another small music shop but was not impressed. My fiance saw this place advertised online, so down the road we went. From the front, parking was easily accessible. As someone who is disabled that was just the first great thing I noticed. Stepping in I was greeted by Spencer, an extremely polite and professional gentleman, who just gave the place a great vibe. I dread having to go to shops in my local area of Raleigh, as they tend to be full of unfriendly know it all unfriendly staff. Thankfully this place is not them, Spencer let me play a few models and I found potential interest in the amazing selection of reverend guitar they had available. That day I went home and researched more throughout the week and looked forward to coming back to trade in a guitar for one of these reverends. When I arrived earlier this morning I was happy to see Spencer again, he took the time to really go through my trade in, while letting me try out whatever I asked. The guitars got so great here I left for some lunch and decided to think on my purchase while they held my trade in for me. After returning I narrowed down my list of guitars to two different reverend models one with p90’s and one with hummbuckers , Spencer’s patients and understanding was unlike any other. He wanted to make sure I was happy with my purchase and expressed much gratitude for my purchase. Thank you so much for this experience, I will be returning for all my guitar needs, and look forward to my first guitar...
Read moreEmployees will refuse to sell you anything if you ask why they require masks for the fully vaccinated (for context we put on our masks immediately when asked upon walking in the store). Bizarre how quickly they escalated the situation. They didn’t know that the CDC has said that it’s incredibly unlikely for the vaccinated to be carriers. Apparently they must have been wearing masks their whole lives to avoid getting measles because no vaccine is “100% effective”. A month ago I would agree that people should be wearing masks, but the scientists have officially decreed it to be unnecessary now. It’s no longer anything but a way to make yourself feel morally superior while losing business.
(Edit: I’m happy to remind that we did put on our masks right away. We were told to leave (“you should leave, the door is right there”) when one of us remarked that we found it “weird” to still require masks. They absolutely have the right to ask us to wear masks (which we did) but it was bizarre how they immediately treated us like anti-vaxxers at that point, escalating a conflict. The business is happy to believe in science until it no longer requires a physical symbol of who is good/smart and who is bad/dumb. I’m sure they’re getting a lot of business right now, so it isn’t like they could use our money. They even have so much money that they think it’s cool to insult a poor student for going through a McDonald’s drive-through, so be sure not to hold a fast food drink...

Bryan fixed my Martin guitar and I have to give props.
Said Martin guitar had a gap in the heel where it meets the body which made the guitar action so high it was unplayable.
After doing a ton of research, I found out that unlike most other Martin guitars with dovetail or mortise & tenon neck joints, my Martin guitar has a bolt-on neck joint. As a result, it simply needed an adjustment (by removing a super difficult-to-access cover plate inside the body, and tightening a bolt under it) in order to fix the gap in the heel, bring the action down, and make this guitar playable again.
Not having previously known about Twin House, I called 4 or 5 other "professional" "expert" guitar techs who all dismissed my findings, told me I was wrong, and that my guitar would need a $500 neck reset.
I walked into Twin House, Bryan listened to me, took care of the job, and I couldn't be happier. 10/10...
