Have come to this library regularly and never had a problem before. Today, the short pudgy guy with dark hair who, unbelievably, is the “supervisor” at this library asked ME to leave when I asked the staff if they could do something about teenagers who were being extremely loud and disruptive. They were standing around laughing loudly and goofing off nonstop. That’d be fine if it was a playground but this is a library where people come to study and others should respect that. It’s the employees’ job to ensure this but unbelievably, when I mentioned that, this guy “in charge” asked me to leave. I was in shock but the teenagers themselves left after overhearing this because even they understood my request.
The employee then proceeded to ask in a patronizing manner when I sat back down at my computer if I was “going to leave”. I told him no since there was no reason and that the teenagers themselves had left understanding what he, as supervisor, didn’t. He insisted and as I was trying to log off from the computer (since I was being harassed), he proceeded to log me off himself from behind his desk. I asked to speak to his supervisor which was when he informed me he was. No wonder. Honestly, the ignorance blows my mind. Someone like that should never be in charge. My request was very reasonable but they weren’t. They should have addressed it without a customer even asking. I am more than happy to go somewhere that practices common sense and respects its patrons.
From other reviews I read, apparently this is a theme and they regularly kick out people for the craziest reasons. It’s shameful and so unprofessional. Definitely on power trips. What the hell is wrong w this place? Please get normal people to work here, not just the security guards. No wonder they have one of the lowest ratings of libraries...
Read moreNever had a problem at this library before until today. Kicked out, threatened and had 3 cop cars called on us just because we asked why out of all the people wearing hoodies was I the only one forced to leave along with the people i came with? Since when do libraries not allow hoodies? Or what about when someone wears a hijab are they going to get kicked out too? Then when we asked for proof of such rule they mention the 3 cop cars coming to escort us out. I always wore my hoodie inside and NONE of the staff ever had a problem with it, i WASN’T the only one either on this specific occasion and it was ONLY when I brought up others in the building wearing a hoodie ONLY THEN they kicked out the other people. It’s sad to see all of this happen all because of a security guard fresh out the military on a power trip. I came in a group of 6 and none of us have ever had a problem until that new security...
Read moreSecurity guard on a power trip. Told us we couldnt wear hoodies so we took it off we complied. After that we went to the study room which we were then kicked out of by him because it was reserved during that hour meanwhile it was empty. He was babbling about the Israel-Palestine conflict and saying he will attack anyone againts the USA and Israel loudly. He also was bragging about how he had just came back from the military. He then came up to me because he said I was staring at him while he was loudly making these statements and passively aggresively asked me if there was a problem. He kicked us out at the end with no justified reason. Its very scary for a person to make this types of statements specially in a public and in a safe space such as a library especially when that person has previous military experience which can...
