Our experience at Cary Station 8 Fire Department was nothing short of exceptional! We celebrated our son's 7th birthday with a tour, and the firefighters went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable day.

This fire department saved the day for a Momma duck and her ducklings!

I was driving home from work and noticed a Momma duck and a few ducklings on the edge of the road. I was a little worried so I turned after the intersection to see if they made it across the road okay.

I watched as one-by-one ducklings dropped into a storm drain on the curb and Momma duck circled the drain worried about her ducklings.

I was not sure what to do, so I called the Fire Department and let them know what happened unsure if they could help or not.

Without hesitation they arrived in the big red fire truck and leapt into action. After removing the storm drain grate one of the firefighters dropped into the drain and started pulling ducklings out one by one to return them to Momma duck.

Long story short . . . Momma duck was reunited with her ducklings and they made it safely back to the pond.

I had a great experience with fire department station 8. They were awesome! I had a smoke alarm that kept beeping throughout the night and usually we would change out the battery. However, on this occasion that did not work. The alarm kept beeping until morning the next day. I called the fire department that morning and asked if they can come out to take a look at it and they came out right away!
