One of the worst experiences
I went to a location in the winter garden area due to a family gathering and decided to buy a few Christmas decorations including an inflatable penguin. Now I should have noticed how light the box was that’s my fault, there was nothing in the box except for the pegs string and instructions, This is not the reason for the bad review. I called this location because it was closer to home and I asked if I was able to get an exchange at this location considering I bought at another location and was told it was no issue. So being told that it was “no issue” I went the following day with receipt and product in hand, this is when I had the displeasure of meeting Andrea (at least that’s what my receipt says)
She seemed fine with all the other customers in front of me who looked to be only purchasing items but when I got to her with the product and receipt she immediately had an attitude with me She started off by saying “what do you want” keep in mind she’s working in the line that says exchange on a big sign above her head, so I explain to her the issue but she cut me off to tell me I have to go back to the other location, I told her I called to ask if I could return here instead because it’s closer to then be told “shouldn’t have been shopping far from home” she then started to complain about having to do paper work and I get it no one does but you don’t need to complain and make me feel uncomfortable, with an attitude the entire time she tells me I owe 8 cents and I paid for it no problem it’s only 8 cents but then the attitude came back for some reason when I used my card to pay it because I had no cash on me.
All in all I got my item but not without being treated like someone who was giving the employees a hard time. I’m not a perfect person but I’ve never given attitude to an employee and to be treated that way really sucked
Funny enough the walls are covered with the stores return policy which says they won’t give you a hard time, yeah right, and to Andrea I get people can be rude when asking for returns or exchanges but I gave no sign of hostility you definitely need some customer...
Read moreTheir motto is "Good stuff, cheap" or something close and they have it right on the nose. Great products- very little "off brand" items for the prices that most discount stores would charge. While shopping, you can't help but lick up a few items that aren't on your list are several things go on a wish list for later.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is for two reasons: The layout and the music.
The layout does have a vague semblance of order but with so many tables of displays that are essentially cross-marketing overstock, it's super easy to get turned around. It's pretty masterful at organized chaos. It's a pain not to be able to find a specific item because they've got it in three different spots nowhere near each other. And not a single employee offered assistance. Which, for me is fine. I prefer to either figure it out myself or I'll ask if I can't. But to those who want proactive service this would be a ding. Maybe a store locator map would help?
The music is overwhelmingly loud for such a quiet store. Nobody was talking. No kids running around. So your ears focus on the only noise: the tunes. And unless you love country 24/7 you'll wish you could find earplugs on the invisible map. Maybe they could work in some different genres?
Ollie's is good for when you want something specific or you're planning to buy in bulk. They have a loyalty card (Me too but I have no idea what it's for- most loyalty cards are required to get sale prices. That doesn't seem to be the case here) that rewards their customers, somehow. And they almost never have lines at the checkout. It's the only place I know that rivals Wal-Mart in a variety store category. Will...
Read moreOllie’s !! where do i start? as soon as i walked in i was overwhelmed . it’s as like a Big Lots meets Aldi and had a baby Rug-store, but on Crack. things were sort of organized in the sense that you knew you were in the Kitchen ware section but there would be a random self with paperback novels in between 2 shelves that had nothing but glassware. so confusing. The rugs they have are so great only they weren’t great prices . so make a separate rug store if you’re going to have a discount store with normal prices ob rugs. that was so annoying. I kept waiting to to find a deal. NOPE . The staff all looked paranoid and would look at you like you had stolen one of those rugs and they knew you were hiding it in your pants. They just stare you down like, “ I know you have a rug in your pants . I’m on to you!” needless to say, it’s creepy and i left there feeling like if robbed the store and all i had was one of the novels from the kitchen section that i had a receipt for. on the good sides , it was an overall fun adventure with. lots of things to look at and price out and down really good deals on certain items but the items are ever changing so it’s useless to tell you what was on sale, since that was the one and only day they had that sale . worth the trip . you’ll find some great houseware gifts and some treasures that will surprise you because they carry a lot of unexpected items (but again, i can’t tell what that’ll be because when you go, it will be entirely different ) i liked it. it needs to be a little cleaner. and the staff could use a xanax, some rest and a class on customer service but don’t let them stop you from...
