They aren't joking when they say no store does more. I already shopped almost exclusively at HEB because they're local and have great in store coupons but their customer service & commitment to their community can't be beat, and nothing speaks truer to that statement than my most recent trip to this particular store.
My sitter ended up being a no-show so I had to take my four month old shopping with me, alone, for the second time ever. Most of the trip was uneventful but as we pulled into the checkout line he started to fuss. Naturally the line wasn't moving. After about three minutes one of the managers, Elisa, called me over to a newly opened lane. I assume they were either short staffed that day or were experiencing a sudden rush because Julianna, another manager, was the one helping me bag.
Allow me to note how impressed I am whenever upper level management steps in to assist with jobs that are clearly well below their pay grade because the job needs to be done.
It was bad enough that I'd forgotten one of my payment cards at home but we'd just finished the transaction when I realized I'd failed to give my coupons to the cashier. By this point I was quite frazzled when Elisa & Julianna stepped in and helped out even further by updating the transaction and eventually hunting down an associate to help me load my groceries into my car. This review doesn't express everything but I was halfway home when I began to cry for all the kindness they showed.
I will always shop at HEB and will impress upon friends and family the sort of business they're supporting by doing so as well.
Outside of my experience today this location is always clean with a decent selection for its size. Parking is never an issue, the pharmacy line is usually short during the day, and the checkouts move at a steady pace. There are only a handful of items I ever need to seek out in the HEB Plus when I visit my parents on the NW...
Read moreThis used to be "my HEB" but other patrons/customers that shop here have become increasingly violent with me as I shop at this site. They now have 20-year-olds "cruising" around the the aisles in HEB electric disability carts- people who have no physical disability themselves and who hold no regard or courtesy to those of us who cede them to the people who truly need them. These so-called 20-ish year old adults act like children in the aisles and block those of us who are attempting to shop. When I politely ask them to "please move" because they have deliberately blocked my view of items that I am considering for purchase, these individuals get out of their electric carts and get into my face and cuss me out using profanity in front of pre-school aged children! These individuals are true inciters of violence!!! I almost feel as if I must attend this store only if I'm armed and believe IF there's a next time I in FACT will be. I'm over 50 with some disabilities of my own (but I don't abuse HEB's electric carts)!
I have nothing against the employees of this store and I respect them all highly. However, with the immature customers they now draw it's time to head on out to explore better pastures. This location has become ghetto and management is allowing customers to abuse their equipment, which interferes with adult/mature shoppers. Sorry HEB #24, I'm truly going to miss you!
I am changing my one star to five after two days, because I don't want it to reflect poorly on the employees of this location. It's simply the patrons who come here have become increasingly unreasonable. I will still miss t...
Read moreThey have poor management. This HEB is five minutes away from me and everytime I go, I always need to check my groceries expiration date, because They keep putting things out from months ago. I went last week for hot dog buns and they were all expired in June 26! There were like 30packages of them, who da hell sales that in the last few days of July?!!!!!!! Then they get mad when I go to return the item because I bought it yesterday and just realized it’s expired🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I always need to take my receipt with the item for prove that I just bought it the other day, which I have no problem but c’mon don’t get mad at me just because you can’t throw away all expired food and instead you keep it on the shelves to sale! I can’t always keep checking the expiration days every freaking time I go to the store, because I’m a human being too, who’s also busy!! Like how difficult is it to just throw away all expired food from months ago?? And why as a the manager aren’t you even able to check the shelves to make sure there’s no...
