Went in yesterday to purchase a rug. There was only one left of the particular style/size I wanted, however it did not have the style # sticker on either end like all other rugs. Through the plastic it appeared to be the same pattern but the color looked navy bluish instead of dark grey due to all the plastic. I take this $330 rug to the cash register and ask the cashier to please scan the barcode to verify its style #B688 before I purchase as it had no tag on it, I also showed her a picture of the style # that was on the display. She then rolls her eyes and said she doesn’t know how that can be verified since there’s no style # tag on the rug and rolls her eyes. She then calls the manager and I ask him the same thing. He tells me that typically the rugs don’t come in different colors so if the pattern looks the same through the plastic it is MOST LIKELY the correct rug. I then ask to open the plastic on one end so I can verify it’s dark grey before purchasing. He tells me that they typically don’t allow that. I then tell the cashier to scan the barcode so I can see what comes up in their system….low and behold she scans it and it comes up on the screen as the correct style number. I ASKED HER AND THE MANAGER TO SCAN IT FROM THE BEGINNING SO I COULD VERIFY THE STYLE # and they both looked at me as if I was speaking French. That’s all I wanted, to verify. They turned such a simple situation into the most frustrating dumb incident. Complete lack of common sense and no problem solving skills, not to mention rude. I didn’t get names but cashier was older lady with orange hair and grey roots and manager was a male with blonde hair and glasses. A kindergartner could have handled that situation with more knowledge...
Read moreUpdate: no further response once I sent pictures to customer service. However, dared to try out the CP store again and this time even agreed to sign up for their credit card based on their promise of 10% discount. My purchase was rather large again. Well they set me up with the card, but apparently forgot the 10% discount. So will cancel card and make a check mark for this store. Don’t regret spending over 2K there, but gotta learn my lesson. There are other nice stores.
picked up another outdoor wicker furniture sectional piece today. Was planning to use it interior. Unfortunately, this piece has been either used in the store or used and returned by a customer. the bottom portion is covered in spiderwebs and once touching it, your hands are dirty. It's very unfortunate, considering the price for the piece is $400. I didn't realize it when it was loaded on the car and the box was removed to fit. I was told I cannot return it without the box and the box is at the store :) Also, I drove an hour to the store, since most stores in the area don't have this piece, so just to try returning it in person will be a task and might be unsuccessful....
Read moreI'm going to say I miss Garden Ridge, I felt that they had a more reasonable pricing.
This is a giant warehouse, that has pretty much most of your household needs, but I find it is quite expensive compared to other stores that sells essentially the same thing. They do have a giant selection of everything they sell, at minimum 4 aisles of everything. I just never find anything that is worth the price. It is also daunting the amount of stuff they have. During Christmas nearly half of this store (which is huge) is filled with everything and anything Christmas related.
I would say maybe 1 in every 10 times I go here do I find something to buy, they have a lot of stuff but I wouldn't say the pricing is worth it on about 85% of the items.
Employees are extremely hard to find when you need help and I have ended up walking half way across the store before I ever encounter anyone. I've never seen more than one register open at a time, and I wouldn't say the service is friendly either.
Overall I would not recommend this place for home decor needs, unless you are okay with over paying for...
