I booked this hotel for our first summer vacation with our three kids after getting all A’s. I booked my room Thursday evening with Sunday check in and Monday check out. I requested early check in at noon. Which I know it’s not a guarantee, even though hotel never notified that it wasn’t doable like most hotels do. On the contrary, I received a text at 7:58 am that my room was ready for check in. Upon arrival of a large group of people, everyone that had booked their rooms the night before and the morning of received their rooms before I did. When I asked why I got a text saying my room was ready the guy at reception responded “I don’t know”. I asked why everyone else got their rooms before me when I booked mine three days before them. He said because theirs was single king bed and mine was 2 queen beds. So apparently they clean only king beds first THEN go back and clean queen bed bedrooms. I asked a manager in training if I could speak to manager (she was super nice), the manager never came out. The rude guy at reception came back out and continued being rude. I asked for extra towels, extra pillows when I made my reservations, never received. In the evening called the front because wifi password was accepted but it was stating “no Internet connection”, I was told she’d call me back because she was checking in guests. Never got a call back. Never got access to wifi but was billed for it. I did contact customer service for all the issues. They refunded the wifi and sent message to hotel to contact me to resolve some kind of compensation for the bad experience. I received an email from the hotel where they said that I got the text because my room was ready but given to someone else ….. completely contradicting info than what was provided at check in. Then they said wifi would be refunded even though I used it. Which I did not. For the bad experience they would refund $22.50. Will never stay here again. Will never recommend again. Worst Marriott experience ever as a Platinum member.
PS: Milk was expired at breakfast. Said 5/20. It was 5/30 when my kids were eating breakfast. We didn’t bring it up bc honestly, they didn’t care about...
Read moreThe hotel has a nice, clean, modern feel and the staff were very friendly. The pool was nice, as were the bar and outdoor seating areas. The hotel feels new and is nicely situated to area restaurants and the nearby train station. There are great walking paths around the lake next to the hotel. My only real complaints are with the room. The biggest problem was the bathroom door, which was a frosted glass sliding door. As I was standing in the bathroom with the door closed, my kids ran by the door and I could clearly see what they were wearing. So it occurred to me that if you happened to be sharing a room with someone you didn't want to see your naked silhouette, the bathroom would not be ideal. In addition, the frosted glass did nothing to block light so it was like the light of a thousand suns when someone went in there in the middle of the night. By the end our our three night stay, we were pretty sick of that door. The room layout (we had a two queen room) was kind of cramped and awkward and the tv was not easily viewable from either the couch or the bed, even when pulled away from the wall. Also, the convertible sofa bed was terrible. It was a twin trundle bed underneath a very hard and uncomfortable west elm sofa. So if you need two people to sleep on that, one will be stuck sleeping on the love-seat sized couch that feels a lot like concrete while the other gets the mattress. There is no way that the short little couch would have worked for an adult. It isn't like I expect any fold out sofa bed to be great, but when you say that a room will sleep 6 people, you should mention that one of them has to sleep on a couch that would only really accommodate someone 4 feet tall. The room had plenty of USB charging ports but very few actual plugs and I had a hard time finding one to plug my hair dryer into while other people were using the bathroom. The one really great feature of our room was the closet. It was...
Read moreI dont often leave reviews, but I had to leave a review for this hotel because I did not have a great expreince and I definitely dont think it was worth the money I spent. To start off, the staff were sweet and friendly except for one lady who I told her the yogurt that they served us for breakfast was 3 days expired and she made it seem like I was bothering her. She told me to "just pick one that's not expired". When I informed her that several of them are expired and multiple customers noted that as well, she was mumbling under her breath and said she will notify the person over breakfast. She was not apologetic at all and I thought her reaction was so rude. Marriott needs to know if I get sick at all from yall servings expired food, I will be suing!! The breakfast was not great, which was disapponting because I have been to multiple Marriott's that serve wonderful breakfast. The 2 days I was there, they served bananas that were over ripe both days, expired yogurt, dry sausage and brittle bacon with no flavor smh. I did see multiple reviews saying the breakfast was not good, but I thought maybe those people were just exaggerating, but they clearly werent. The room was a nice size and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, but there seemed to be something wrong with our toilet because every time we flushed there was a loud obnoxious screeching sound for about 10 mintues. The towels felt like sand paper, which I was a little upset at because it was pretty uncomfortable to use. I know Marriott can afford nice towels so this was just ridiculous. The shower also seemed like mold was collecting at the bottom around the edges maybe due to it being old. The hotel is in a nice area with a pretty lake near it so it was not horrible, but definitely not worth the money I spent. I would not recommend this...
