So I never had any issues until I went in there recently, I go in there all the time with no shoes on and the one time it's late at night I had no shoes and no shirt on but they have no sign outside and the proceeds to say no shoes no shoes "you can't come in here", it's not against the law because you have no sign outside and it's not actual law. Sure you can refuse service but you still serve my life but was being rude about it. Mr Rick , an older gentleman, starts to get rude with me after being in there for about 30 seconds, I grab the bottle and went to the counter to get out real quick, close to 9, and he Starts giving me attitude and tone about having no shoes on and I said politely to talk to me a little bit nicer. The two gentlemen there older gentlemen start treating me disrespectfully with their tone and attitude because they want to run the show on how things go. They goo on to say "You can't be in here with no shoes".... well there's no sign that says that and starts threatening me with calling the cops... and I've been a long-time customer of 5 years going to this place. Never had an issue. I tell you this right now when you're acting a certain way with a certain person who have plenty of problems and can't afford the simplest of things like insurance that self-medicate which is half of your customer base, especially with most people who go in there who have mental issues, you should be treating them with a little bit more respect since you're working in customer service. How do you ask me nicely about going back outside? Because they couldn't do that.!!!! I tried being nice about it when he asked me to go outside even though he was being rude as heck about it I would have went outside so naturally with anybody who gets treated with disrespect they talk back. I've been in there before with no shoes and never had any issues with anybody and I get the policies with broken glass is understandable. But you don't treat somebody with disrespect and talk down to them especially when they have had a long day and all they want to do is have a nice little glass of alcohol to get them by. I'll explain more to the actual owner of this corporation or facility. That type of stuff is not okay. The people I usually run into in the morning time or evening never say a word to me or truly with any disrespect they love my wife and are super cool withme, but these older folks in the afternoon are super disrespectful. And it's not the first time I've ran into this issue with this guy Mr Rick. I won't stand for it and I'm going to stand up for myself every single time and they threatening somebody with the cops with something that's not illegal is not okay. Next time it happens I will definitely be exercising my rights. Put a sign outside that says no shirt no shoes no service like every other liquor store. Not bad guys not trying to get them in trouble or nothing but Mr Rick there needs to understand a little bit about citizen rights. I did nothing wrong because you had never posted, nothing about no shoes no shirt no service. And I'll exercise that every single time I come to a place...Educate your employees a little bit better especially the people that work in the afternoon. Just because they have nothing going on in their life doesn't mean that you treat me with disrespect because they're bored. I'll be seeing you guys again but next time it happens we're going to have issues and I'm going to come in there for now on...
Read moreMy cousin and I just had a highly unsettling experience at Nathan’s Cellar tonight. We were browsing the store and considering a purchase. After a few minutes, we decided against buying and left the store. To our shock, as we were nearly back to our car, we realized an older man/store employee was right behind us…not even a foot away. He scared me as he abruptly approached us in a confrontational manner, questioning our intentions, asking what we were doing in the store, and insinuating that we had taken something. He literally stopped checking out other customers to follow and confront us…two young women, alone at night. It's deeply concerning that customers can be treated with such suspicion for merely browsing and deciding not to make a purchase, especially when we both were wearing dresses with no pockets and nothing on us to suggest we’d taken anything. I can't help but feel that this may have been a case of racial profiling as others left the store with no confrontation. No one should have to endure such treatment for merely browsing and not deciding to buy something. I hope the store addresses this issue with the seriousness it deserves as I will be making a complaint to management and...
Read moreI use to go there all the time, but an old gray haired man with a poney tail is so rude every time I go. I commented that the person ringing me up seemed to not be ok. She said she was agitated. I told her I was sorry. And then asked if she was agitated at me. She just looked at me. The old man man yelled at me behind her and said he would cancel my entire order. I asked why because I know I wasn't being rude in any way. He then bellowed, "Not another word." She looked at me and mouthed "sorry." She whispered that she's just doing what she's told. If he's the Manager, I feel sorry for the workers.
I guess Customer Service is not what it use to be. So sad, the store use to have such a great vibe. I hope someone talks to him. You can't talk to people like that and be successful. I will be moving my business elsewhere. It's interesting, because I read some of the reviews for Nathan's Cellar and he is referred to quite a bit in a negative way and never...
