Extremely disappointing experience at Jai Indian Kitchen in Centerton, Arkansas.
I ordered a Veg Biryani today for takeaway, clearly communicated my veg preference, and even the bill reflected a Veg Dum Biryani order. Shockingly, the staff served me Chicken Biryani instead which I realized only after consuming 4-5 spoons when I found chicken beneath the rice. This is not a minor mistake — it is a serious breach of trust, especially for customers like me who are strictly vegetarian for personal, ethical, and religious reasons.
What makes it worse is that there was no rush in the restaurant; I was literally the only customer at that time. Despite having every opportunity to get the order right, the staff was casual and unbothered when I reported the issue.
To add to the disappointment, the restaurant offered a refund only on the condition that I do not post about this incident online. Trying to suppress genuine feedback instead of taking responsibility shows extremely poor professionalism and raises concerns about their food-handling practices.
We were really excited to have this restaurant open nearby to our residence just recently, but that excitement quickly turned into immense disappointment. I hope the management takes this matter seriously and improves their processes so no customer has to go through this again. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Jai Indian Kitchen to anyone who expects transparency, safety, or respect for their dietary...
Read moreThis place is new, and has a diverse menu with chaats, South Indian items and North Indian delicacies. However, they don’t know knowledge or expertise to make most of the dishes. We ordered masala puri, a chaat from Bangalore, and served pani puri’s puris with yellow peas, chutneys, and onions. The server said, make the way you want and eat. They served the same set of items for sev puri with a side of sev. When we told them that this is how the dish is not made, one of the ladies in the counter made some mashup with everything and served us some chaat. Totally, displeasing to eyes and palate. The next item was utthapam, which was served with cold sambar and chutneys. The utthapam, itself, had lack of flavor and toppings. I guess, they need to work on getting their staff trained on cooking. If not, don’t offer the items on your menu. Please work on your sides. Everything served to us was cold. Hope...
Read moreMy husband and I had chicken biryani (a specific kind with a quarter chicken in a creamy sauce, I don't remember the name), masala dosa (thin rolled up bread with delicious potato filling), chicken pakora (little fried chicken pieces wonderfully seasoned) -- it was way too much food for us two but we had delicious leftovers! We love Indian food and it is definitely worth a try. The only reason I put 4 stars on atmosphere was the music was pretty loud, but still added to...
