Pharmacist Thinh Dang refused to fill my family member's prescription for pain medication that they rely on to manage severe and legitimate pain due to a severe and chronic autoimmune disease. Dang told my family member that the prescription (which has been unchanged for years) seemed "sketchy," and unnecessarily made her feel as if she was drug seeking. This harassment and unkind treatment is exactly NOT how a pharmacist should treat the patients he is there to help.
The pharmacy insisted on getting a brand new prescription, which was difficult to obtain in a timely manner due to the disruption that the Obenchain and Almeda fires had on my family member's small doctor office. (The small office had to be evacuated and several employees lost homes and were unable to work their normal hours.)
By the time my family member obtained their needed medication, over 24 hours later, they were already experiencing withdrawal symptoms in addition to their unmanaged pain. If it had been any longer, we would have needed to go to the emergency room, unnecessarily exposing my immunocompromised family member to COVID.
I do not know why Dang decided to randomly attempt to self patrol the opioid crisis in the middle of wildfires and a pandemic, using my immunocomprised family member as the example, but his bizarre and ill timed power grab certainly was not appreciated by me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually have a really good experience here, the manager and staff are usually friendly and super helpful. Today I had a strange and unfortunate experience while checking out. I've worked customer service on a register for many years and I've never in my life seen this kind of behavior. The man at the register was on speaker phone with his wife, did not say a word to me even though I greeted him. He had a conversation over the phone while ringing me up, saying nothing. Only saying have a good one as i walked away... A manager walked over during this transaction and said nothing to him about this. He also mentioned to another coworker that this was his last day at this store.
Now I am not a Karen, and I don't even expect good service. Its a walgreens and I just wanna buy my tampons and shampoo, but this was so strange and rude. As I said in all my years working customer service it has never been appropriate to talk on speaker phone while working register, along with ignoring customers entirely. I have had very good experiences here but this wasn't one of them. I hope you guys don't have many other employees with short timers syndrome! And I hope that guy enjoys Texas, maybe customers would be fine with him talking on the phone at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot once have they had my rx ready when they said it would be ready. I call every time before coming and the automated system never gives the correct estimate. Pharmacy closes 1:30-2 for lunch, which is fine except you donāt see pharmacy staff walking back into the building until 2:05+. Finally rolled up the āClosedā shade in the drive thru window at 2:10, but the lady continued about her business as if there was no one at the window. She finally came back and acknowledged me at about 2:15 just to let me know my rx was not ready (per usual), she could not give me a time estimate, and the best I could do was come inside and fwait (last time I did that I waited 1.5 hours before giving up and leaving). Obviously I donāt know the staff personally, but its not hard to see that they have no work ethic and no compassion for working with customers who most often donāt feel well. I cannot stand the attitude of the staff and their inability to be helpful. My business is insignificant I get it, but Iām done. I hope you are too. The Pharmacy at Central Point Walgreens suuuuuucks. Iām not a Karen I swear. I just have an understanding of how people, customers, and patients should be treated while this location...
