This little shop is so quaint! It's a great place to bring a friend, or your mom to "after" you have had a nice lunch together just down the road at the little family run Mediterranean sandwich shop, Bocatta. I love the owner of Shady Lady!! She is very genuine, and a unique person with a great sense of style. Shady Lady is my "go to" for everything from business dresses, coats, last minute outfit for a dinner party to a great set of throw pillows or an old vintage lamp. It truly is "uptown" couture! None of the things she takes in are tattered, excessively worn, stretched out or discolored. She carefully inspects everything and if it doesnt meet with her high standards she doesn't put it on the rack. I recommend spending at least an hour or so shopping at Shady Lady, and make sure to try out the restraunt I mentioned (go have lunch there the same day, and make a fun day of it. Return trips for those rustic sandwiches at Bocatta and going home with bags of stunning but inexpensive clothes and home decor will be your new favorite delight. Nice store, but I unfortunately found termite frass and lots of mold/mildew on an expensive wooden item after purchasing it and checking under the exterior lining.

This happens occasionally with antiques, and it’s very possible they didn’t know. I messaged very graciously asking about remedy options and letting them know about the health hazards in case it may have spread damage to other items in their store.

They opened the message (Facebook Marketplace has read receipts) but they did not reply. The lack of communication and acknowledgement is the reason for the review, much more than the damaged item. They certainly are not obligated to offer refunds or take back any item after sale, but it would have been nice for them to at least acknowledge the concerns with a response.

Future customers please be as thorough as possible checking the items in the store before purchasing - the presence of mold and potential termites falls beyond normal “as-is”wear and tear in my opinion, even...

Some friends and I stopped in for a bit of Christmas shopping at the Shady Lady and have a wonderful time! There are so many lovely things to browse through all neatly displayed on two floors! The prices are fair! Holly and her staff are always happy to help you with any questions or ideas. I do not believe many people know the existent of items they have here! On display for your consideration are many lightly loved holiday, vintage and newer items; clothing, shoes, boots, purses, hats, umbrellas, jewelry, linens, dishes, kitchen wears, furniture, lamps, baskets, decorative items, bath and body lines.... Too many to list all, you will have to come spend some time and immerser yourself in a nostalgic shopping trip at the Shady...
