Ludwig's Jewelers Inc — Local services in Chambersburg

I was not familiar with Ludwig's as they are located in downtown Chambersburg. I bought two loose stones online to have set as stud earrings. The online seller told me they could order a setting for me from Stullers (no direct to consumer sales) and set them. I went to Stullers website and found the setting I wanted. One search feature on the website was to find a jeweler and for Chambersburg only Ludwig's and Belles came up.

Ludwigs was willing to special order the setting I wanted and the silicone threaded backs and set the stones even though I had not bought the stones there. Ludwigs (Susan was my sales person) was especially helpful, friendly. The earrings turned out beautiful.

I looked around and they had very nice consignment (estate they call it) jewelry for sale. I would recommend checking them out to compare their prices before automatically purchasing something online. They were very comparable and even a little cheaper pricing for the loose stones I bought online from a place calling themselves direct-to-consumer wholesaler.

If you don't see what you want in the store, remember you can look online at Stullers and find the setting or already made jewelry (get the item number) and they can order it for you like they did for me.

If I could give zero stars I would.Dealing with this jewelry store has been very disappointing and frustrating.What should have been a seamless transition in getting my engagement ring reset turned out to be a nightmare. The store caters to an older demographic and probably shouldn’t sell engagement rings.Their selection is very limited which means they have to look through books to order settings in and they do minimal work in house so things take a week to get back. They also do not follow directions and do not communicate well which adds to the time it takes for you to get things back. This should have been a very easy pleasant process that has turned into me being very frustrated and disappointed. I left this same review on their Facebook page which has since been hidden after the response was more of a marketing pitch then an explanation, mind you the owner Anne was whom we worked with. Such a wonderful jewelry store with the smartest, congenial, knowledgeable staff! The inventory continues to be new and exciting and when I'm looking for a special gift for a friend, I look there first. When I'm looking for jewelry for accenting my look for special events (weddings, anniversaries, etc.) or just to make myself feel good, I come to Ludwig's. The personal attention I'm given is so appreciated. When my husband and I upgraded my wedding set, I shed a few happy tears when I found the perfect rings there. I always ask for their opinions, ideas and help when selecting because they truly have the best suggestions and steer me in the right direction keeping with my budget and helping me leave with a smile.
