We were really rooting for this place. The atmosphere was awesome. The lighting, colors, and decor were spot on. The waitress was great. I believe we were her only table, but she was nice and attentive. Whoever wrote the menu did a beautiful job of describing wonderful food, sadly that was not what ended up on our table. Now I do take into consideration that we went on a Monday and that this establishment is somewhat new, but the food was really a disappointment. We started out with the soft pretzel, and it came with honey mustard and cheese sauce. The pretzels didn't taste fresh, I dare say maybe microwaved? The cheese sauce was just warm enough to look fluid but was borderline cold. I ordered the waffle with chicken strips and the "bourbon" syrup. If there was any hint of bourbon, it was because the syrup was bottled in an old bourbon bottle from the prohibition. The waffle was a waffle, and the chicken...was dry and shared similar characteristics of Tyson chicken tenders that were cooked earlier in the day and maybe sat in a warming drawer. My husband ordered the pasta dish with "house made" Alfredo, and we added the chicken (two dried out and overcooked Tyson chicken tenders). The sauce was mediocre at best. It doesn't take much to make a fresh Alfredo sauce and it didnt come with the fresh vegetable medleyas stated on the menu. We didn't order any drinks so no comment on that. Overall for a total of $49.78 +$10 tip, I'd suggest maybe a different restaurant. We are all for eating local when out of town, but for these prices I suggest heading to Texas Roadhouse, you'll get more food and better quality for...
Read moreSo i know they've only been open a few weeks so I suspect most of what I noted is new restaurant issues. Our waiter was very nice but repeatedly forgot we existed which, in a restaurant that's holds maybe 40 people is a little sad. Took our drink order after 15 minutes and then after another ten we had to let a different waitress know we never got them. Our waiter apologized multiple times and explained he was new but 40 minutes for food and drinks to arrive wouldn't be acceptable elsewhere. We got the pretzel appetizer which was fantastic and we both ordered the chicken and waffle with syrup. I was surprised it didn't come with some sort of veggie or side. The waffle was perfect, the chicken tenders looked like Giant brand. Nothing like the pictures I saw online. More like something microwaved and tossed on top. Syrup was amazing! They should sell it in stores. Husband got an Old Fashioned which he felt was OK. I got a cranberry cocktail which, if it had alcohol in it, I couldn't tell. The atmosphere was cute. Decor was very fitting for a speakeasy vibe. That said it was very bright which made the mood light on our table pointless. I'd recommend dimming the spotlights a bit. Overall I think it has a lot of promise but for now, temper your...
Read moreWe stopped by after church around 11:20. We sat at the table in front of the bar. We waited over 20 minutes to be acknowledged by anyone, my mother had to go up to the bar to ask one of the waitresses for menus. The only response she gave was “oh! I didn’t even notice you, I’ll get you some menus.” I had to stop my father from walking out because we wanted to try the food. After we ordered (Ethan was our waiter, he was very friendly) we watched the two bartenders behind the bar, honestly, they weren’t doing much. The one with darker glasses just stood behind the bar drinking her drink. The other with colorful glasses only interacted with guests at the bar. (There was only one couple there at the time) there was another man not wearing a uniform behind the bar talking to the same couple the whole time, we’re unsure if he was the owner. We waited almost an hour to even get food. However, the food was decent, the chicken and waffles are the best dish by far. We were disappointed to see that the only way it seems you can get service, is if you sit at the bar and...
