I want to start off by saying before posting this review I did give Shane Co the opportunity to rectify this issue and they choose not to.
My husband purchased my engagement ring and wedding band back in 2019 when we lived in another state - over the years due to what we believe is poor craftsmen-ship we have had to go in and have repairs many many times due to side diamonds falling out (I am very careful with my ring, Iâm a stay at home mom and always take it off before doing any manual labor or chores) recently after countless visits to have repairs my husband took my rings in and let them know of the issue yet again. They told him they would reprong the entire ring to insure this didnât happen again. It was with them for about a week. When we picked it up it turned out they only replaced about 2-3 prongs on the ring and replaced the missing diamonds. The ring now looks ill spaced and even some of the diamonds overlap on the side of the band which constantly is getting things caught in it. My husband went back in again to talk with them about this ongoing issue - after doing research online on their website I discovered my same ring on their own site had 1.5 stars! For this same issue of diamonds falling out all the time. The Manager, Erin told my husband his options are to get his original money spent on the settings back or to give a new ring of the same setting as a replacement but assured him that this issue would keep happening so whatâs the point? They then told him if he chose another setting he would pay the difference if itâs more expensive and if itâs cheaper then his original amount that no money back would be given.. the issue with this is we purchased these rings in 2019 out original setting has gone up about $700 from then to now.. so they will give us the same ring only to have the same issue.. but make us pay more for a ring that is technically cheaper then our original setting in value due to inflation? Or they offered again to âreprongâ the entire ring which let me remind you they said they would do in the first place but didnât.. we went to Shane co because of what we thought was good business.. but it turns out they are not in it for a lifetime to ensure your investment is well taken care of - their repair people on multiple occasions have given me back my ring after repair missing additional diamonds! Extremely customer oriented, provided simple but detailed explanations of diamonds and products, not pushy at all, willing to work with us on timeline, LITERALLY live up to their motto, I felt like I had a friend through the process. Ok so I first started looking at endangerment rings November of 2021. My fiancée and I went to a couple of places before ShaneCo and got the typical 4C speech and let us look at a couple of rings but really had a super hands off approach.
We walk into ShaneCo and they instantly set us up with a jewelry consultant , give us a jewelry holder they called âour shopping cartâ and start showing us all the ring styles, letting us pick between 2-3 to look at and compare at a time. After my fiancĂ©e had her style established (vintage, which totally fits her!) the consultant went into the back and pulled a few different other rings out to really make sure she had the ring she loved. And thatâs when she found âthe ring.â Iâve never seen her so instantly light up. Ring = perfect.
Then we move to the diamonds, the rep didnât just give us the 4C talk again, he pulled out 3 diamonds of different clarities, cuts, and colors and explained the different metrics. My fiancĂ©e was very cognizant of the color, they all looked the same to me but she saw the yellowing of the lesser quality color diamonds, and that mattered a lot. So when we had a color and clarity range for our price point established, my fiancee and I walked away to talk whether we wanted to move forward that day. She said to wait.
YeahâŠ. I didnât. Diamond = perfect.
They set up a monthly layaway payment plan for me that, and at the end I came and picked up her Diamond. I proposed 4 months later to her complete surprise (Yay!)
A few weeks after the proposal, we brought the ring in to get resized for free that was amazing.
A few month after that, we lost her ring and a Good Samaritan returned it to us. We immediately took it to Shaneco who verified the serial numbers and resized it again for free! They were very patient as we were still frazzled by losing the ring and were so kind. They also offered to resize my grandmotherâs wedding band that my family gave to us to use.
Such a great company and will continue to use them...
   Read moreThis was an amazing and awesome experience, I came in there met Austyn to talk about a engagement ring/wedding ring set me and my fiancé wee interested in buying, Austyn was informative and attentive to my needs finally I decided on the ring and went and purchased it, it was near closing time so the only person back there was Rene she was awesome hilarious and one of the reasons I will be a Shane Co customer forever. Thank you Rene. The next day I realized I accidentally purchased the wedding band and not the engagement ring quickly called Austyn to see what action I needed to take to fix the situation and of course he quickly and professionally rectified the situation got the engagement and chose the stone which looks spectacular thanks for the recommendation Austyn. Finally went to the back to pay for everything and there was Rene ready to help and keep me happy one of the best customer service people I have ever met then I was introduced to Liv and her and Rene where on it helping me with canceling the other ring and purchasing the other correct ring, but unfortunately my card was declined had to call my bank to fix the situation but they where closed so I had to hold off till the next morning called my bank and fixed the situation I was one of the first customers in the store and nothing but happy faces to see me especially Austyn, Rene and now Brooke who I met this morning amazingly everyone was so helpful and attentive to my needs and after a couple phone calls to my bank we where able to finish the transaction and get our ring sent in for fitting. I had to leave and come back luckily they where able to get me in an set the ring got off work at 4:30 and raced over finally I could pick up the my engagement ring and still greeted with genuine smiling faces and congratulations.
