Good Morning,
TL'DR version. Doors are locked without explanation. A fellow guest opened the door for me and my family. I informed the employee about the doors without any acknowledgment. I put a chair to keep the door open. Twenty minutes later, a kid came out of the employee's door, inspected the front door, and returned through the employee's door. Moments later was scolded for putting the chair there.
Detailed Version. Today names a sad day for Del Taco service. As a long-time customer, our family had to observe the worst service possible in any Del Taco. It started with us approaching the main entrance. It was locked. I looked around to see if there is any sign. There is no sign. Went to the small entrance and it was locked there too, also with no sign. A fellow customer opened the door for us even though the employees stared at us for a couple of minutes. I ordered food and observed at least five employees appeared to be working, so manning was not an issue. My family got our food without issue. While we are eating, a few more customers were locked out and unable to get in through both entrances. I opened the door for them. I told the Del Taco employee that the main doors are still locked and there is no sign or communication as to why it is locked. The two employees that I told to just stared at each other not even acknowledging what I have just said. Picking and choosing my battles I sat down and continued with my meal. More customers came and were locked out. I continued to open the door for them despite them knocking loudly. I grabbed a chair to keep the door open. After twenty minutes of the door being open a kid came out of the employee door and inspected the entrance door then returned through the employee's door. Moments later a cook came out, along with the cashier came out and closed the door locking it again, and demanded the guests "Who put the chair there?" After saying it a few times, because I am hard of hearing, I was able to hear and acknowledge what he is asking. He told me that it is not allowed. I did respond that the doors are locked and customers are trying to come in. He responded that the doors are locked for a reason and walked away without further explanation. I replied that it is still locked and the employees in the front did not say anything about it. They just stared at me not saying anything. The employee then continued with I am sorry but that is not allowed and has to be closed. Then walked away without any correction or explanation.
My apology I apologize for being in the wrong and for reporting a discrepancy with the doors being locked without explanation. Restaurants do have the right to not serve anyone and possibly without explanation. However, I did see other guests sitting inside when we first attempted to enter and the drive-through was occupied. With being a prestigious fast food duel kitchen you would think that the employees would at least put a sign or communicate something that they are short-staffed, drive-through only, or something else. Instead, we are left to guess or scolded. If it is not truly allowed to assist other customers, since they to had the same thoughts my family did, and if that is not truly allowed to not communicate to the customers why the store is degraded, then consider this my last visit to Del Taco. Any decent business should communicate to its customers why they cannot enter the lobby in a not urgent manner. Good Luck...

Clean location. Good food. But the service was some of the worst. I was visiting from Texas and super excited to visit Del Taco. The music was a great selection (Christian) but the station was staticky.
The cashier took 2 minutes to notice I was standing there (I had to cough for her to turn and notice me). She yawned and looked uninterested as she slowly walked towards the register (looking downward). I asked if she accepted military (which every other location does) and she stated this location did not?? Once I ordered, I had to ask how much my meal was (as it was not mentioned or displayed for me to see). We were not given an order number or receipt to confirm our orders.
My mom ordered a milk shake with her order, when I went to pick it up, I was told there were no milk shakes. I asked if we could have refund for it and was told they don't know how to do that, we'd have to come back later????? What???? My son took a soda in it's place and was given a small or medium cup????
As we were leaving another customer walked in and had to get the cashiers attention as well???
I am sharing because if I were this locations franchise owner, I'd want to know about the level of service and lack there of, that my crew/team/employees were administering to my clientele.
I was super disappointed to say the least. We chose this location as our after church service lunch and we were just not impressed.
Customer Service requires a desire to service the customers (seems to be a lost skill these days). We should have left happy and full. However, we left full and compelled to spend my next 10 minutes writing...
Read moreYour fries are my fav for fast food. Your bacon double dell burger, fantastic with how you chop the bacon and add it as a topping. Brings a whole new flavor. HOWEVER about 3 weeks ago got home and realized part of order missing....2 medium frys, with no salt. Tried multiple times to call but no answer. (Called the next day but again no body would answer.) That was $7 worth of food I didn't get. (Was kinda late n my kid was falling asleep so couldn't drive back.) Went today for taco tue. Don't do that often so when I didn't see any signs about it, I asked if they still had it when ordering. Worker said that had 3 mini snack tacos for 1.69 or whatever it was or regular tacos for right under $4. (Can't remember exact prices). So I said you don't have the Tuesday 3 tacos for $2 something anymore? She just repeated the same info never explaining the change in the "tue deal". Hesitant that 3 mini snack tacos would fill us up I ordered the $5 deal that added fries & drink. I watched a worker playing with/crinkling a French fry sleeve while waiting for fries to get done. Then watched him use his bare fingers to open the sleeve then stuck his fingers inside the bag and moved them around to "open up" the bag to make room for the fries. The fries were so greasy it totally soaked through the sleeve, napkins in sack and left big grease marks on sack in which they bagged it. It will be quite some time before I try a...
