Food 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service 1 ⭐️ Atmosphere 2 ⭐️⭐️ Last night my fiance and I dined here for our date. I'll be honest the food is the only redeeming quality of my experience. The service was really bad from beginning to end unfortunately despite being the only 2 people in the restaurant. When we were seated we were served waters, then he asked if we were ready to order, and we asked for a chai and coke. My fiance received the tea immediately, and I never received my drink even after I requested the check, more on that in a moment. I also ordered a second basket of Naan, which was not delivered while we were eating, as the waiter informed me he forgot the drink and bread because he was on his phone. When I paid the check after requesting to-go plates I recalled I didnt recieve the Naan yet and asked if we could have it, but was told to be seated again since it was not cooked yet. The Naan came out with the garlic flavor kind of undercooked. It was also that when we were paying the check that I noticed I was charged for the coke I didnt receive, so I asked for him to remove the charge but he insisted I take some drink to go instead, but I only wanted it because I could refill it during the meal, it had no value when I was leaving so I declined, but he kept insisting because he didn't want to involve his manager. Then when I still declined he went to the kitchen and came back and said the charge had been reversed. The funny part was I had made a joke about not getting good service when my fiance was because I was white and she looks Indian, but I think perhaps the waiter may have been intoxicated or just completely untrained. Either way 2 stars instead of 1 because the food was worth 5 stars, but the last bread made me give the food 3 stars because they had obviously rushed it since the waiter forgot to place the order...
Read moreBeing new to Indian cuisine we asked for recommendations, making sure, MULTIPLE TIMES, that the server knew my daughter was VEGETARIAN. We decided on the Curry lunch special one with chicken, one vegetarian. When we got our food my daughter took several bites of what was supposed to be the vegetable version of my chicken dish, hard to tell apart since it was seasoned the same, immediately she said are you sure this is not chicken, it tastes like meat, so we called our server and sure enough it was chicken!! So they brought the right order out which was fresh and hot, mine was cold when it was served but I didn't know better as I'd never had it before. After eating the chicken my daughter became ill and no longer wanted anything on the plate, the server apologized then offered her some dessert, she did not want anything as she lost her appetite so I told him he could bring some Garlic Naan in it's place and immediately I knew there was going to be a problem as he didn't want to give me Naan, only dessert, I figured I would be expected to pay for it, even in spite of their mistake, he left and when he came back, no Naan so I asked and he again insisted we have a dessert, I told him we didn't want dessert so he told me he could get the Naan but would charge me, so I said nevermind. When we got the check we were charged a dollar extra for my daughter's meal and when I questioned it he said it was extra for her meal! I said even after you made her eat meat after being told over and over again and after we refused your dessert you're not going to compensate in any way and AGAIN he tried to get me to take dessert instead! I said nevermind, paid the check and this review is the result!!! I gave two stars because the food I did eat before we ended up leaving was good, the rest of the experience...
Read more3.5/5 Stars - Good Food, But Poor Service and Ambiance
My recent dinner at Bawarchi was a mixed experience. Let me start with the positives—the food was pretty good. The starters Gobi, paneer, chicken 65 and biryani had great flavor, and the dishes we tried were tasty and satisfying. However, the salna was disappointingly watery, which took away from the overall enjoyment of the meal. The Tandoori platter was not really sizzling hot and looked like they were premade and just heated them up prior to serving us.
Unfortunately, the service and ambiance left much to be desired. The restaurant didn’t look very appealing, and the tables were somewhat dirty, which made the dining experience less enjoyable.
The service was particularly poor. It took nearly 20 minutes for someone to take our order, as there were only two staff members who seemed overwhelmed with catering, to-go orders, and phone calls. Throughout the meal, we had to wait excessively for basic requests, like refilling water or getting to-go boxes.
While the food has potential, the lack of attention to cleanliness and the slow, inattentive service made the experience underwhelming. I hope the management can address these issues, as it could be a much better dining experience with improved service...
