We have always enjoyed coming here for their unique ice cream flavors, but unfortunately due to our last experience, we can no longer support this business. The owner was out of most of her inventory, so our flavor choice were very limited to begin with. She then proceeded to put 4 ice cream flavors on the same spoon when we asked to try a sample. To clarify, she did not reuse the spoon, just put all 4 samples on the same spoon at the same time. Therefore, we could not accurately taste the samples as they were all mixed together. My friend ordered a mini cone, because it was advertised on menu, but the owner told her she couldn't because the minis are only for kids. Information that definitely wasn't even in fine print on the menu. This was not even the worst part of our experience. We ordered one scoop of ice cream which is listed for $6 on her menu, but she told us we HAD to buy 2 scoops as a minimum because her ice creams have an expiration date, and she'll waste too much expensive inventory if we only buy one scoop. Furthermore, once the 2 scoops were rung up, the total came to $12-$15, depending on whether or not the scoops were the same flavor or different. This was absolutely not the price advertised on her menus. A double scoop is listed as $10 on her menus. When we confronted her about the price, she said that her ice cream inventory is so expensive to buy right now and the menu is from 4 years ago and she doesn't know how to change it or have the time to. Which is not okay. We should not have purchased the ice cream at that point, but we did anyway. However, we will not be returning customers even though we have really enjoyed this place in the past. You can get 8 pints of ice cream from the Culver's across the parking lot for the $27 we spent on 4 tiny scoops. The owner is responsible for managing the inventory of their products and it is not the customer's responsibility to pick up the slack. Especially when you advertise single scoops. Not to mention you can't just make up prices and then give customers an excuse as to why you can't change your menus to reflect those changes. I know the owner really prides herself on the quality of the food she offers customers and I want her to succeed because her ice cream is very delicious, but this is not the way to run a business. I hope she can be receiving of the feedback her customers are giving and make the necessary changes to better...
Read moreWe used to stop by here every now and then for the really good and unique ice cream, but it's really gone downhill since then. The experience today was quite disappointing, and we won't be back.
I ordered one scoop of vanilla ice cream with cookie dough mixed in, and the person with me ordered one scoop of chocolate with brownie bits mixed in. It took a while for both of us to get our ice cream. Mine was weirdly runny and didn't taste like vanilla at all. I also didn't get any cookie dough mixed in- I think I got something like chocolate chips instead. The person with me ended up just receiving plain chocolate with nothing mixed in. Theirs was less runny, but not by much. Each of our ice creams were about $9 each, even though the menu said it would only be around $7. They came in small, plastic cups, and the portions were honestly incredibly disappointing. The menu also looked way smaller than before, with a lot less of the variety and uniqueness I remembered this place for. It's a lot less than it used to be in terms of variety, size, and overall quality.
Service wasn't great either. It looked like it was only the owner working there, and that was probably part of the reason it took so long for us to get our ice cream. She was trying to push us to buy more stuff, and overall she seemed like she was just trying to upcharge us on stuff. She also kept talking about their 'grand opening' and their food, which was not what we were there for. The menus for the food that they were planning to start serving were on every table, and the prices on there were way too high. She also wasn't speaking very loudly or clearly, and it was hard to hear/understand some of what she was saying. She seemed like she also didn't really know how to work the register and prepare the ice cream well. She also didn't charge us for the right items on the register. She didn't use gloves at all, and she was kind of messy while making the ice cream and cleaning up after.
Overall, this place has kind of gone downhill. It used to have a comfortable atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, and most important of all, good products. The seeming shift from sweet treats to food is also really odd, and strikes me as a bad choice. Now, I honestly can't ever see myself coming back here for anything. Would not recommend, especially...
Read moreThey may have great product, however, I wouldn't know since I didn't get to try it😔 I came in ten minutes after noon on a Sunday, tried to order a Thai tea crush and a Matcha crush, both with boba added, and was told I'd have to wait 30 minutes for the boba, and told they had signs posted. This is my first time going in to this shop... Yes, they did have a little 5×7" piece of paper next to the register from management saying black boba isn't available until 30 minutes after they open, but is the sign visibility really the issue? I think if you are claiming to be a dessert, ice cream/ boba/milk tea shop, come in 30 min before opening and be prepared for your potential customers. That little sign by the register does not prevent people googling this place and driving over here, just to leave empty handed and disappointed.
I think what made it even more annoying, was the fact that I am a boba fanatic, I frequent boba places 5 times a week on average, and I've made it at home myself, many times, so when he explained that it was too hot to add to the drink, after my mind flipped through a ton of experiences I have catalogued of enjoying a cold blended milk tea melting next to the warm boba at the bottom of my cup, I asked if they could just give me the boba on the side and I could add it to my drink after I drive home... I thought that was a good solution, he then told me no, they still had to add brown sugar to the boba... so add the brown sugar and give me the boba on the side...I'm already here at your counter. I still don't see why we couldn't have made it work when I was willing to compromise..
Yikes. At 12:10 if they still needed 30 minutes, their sign is wrong anyway. What's really lame, is that I sat out in front of the shop writing this review and googling other boba places in this area past 1240, and the shop wasn't that busy and the employee I dealt with never said anything to me about the boba being ready, he just really didn't seem to care whether they lost a customer. Bummer! Next week I'll wait to come back by til I pick my daughter up from church as opposed to when I drop her off, maybe they will have it together by 130 and I can give you a review on the product, or maybe I'll just try one out from the other listings near here Lol...REDICULUS! Best boba...
