Food Lion — Local services in Chantilly

Pro: Cheap Con: Bad selection, food bags in aisles are sometimes open Degrading: I got a distressing phone call while I was unloading onto the belt. I was trying to handle that while also trying to talk to the cashier. It is hard to do both at once, but there was no one else in line (ironically, I had to wait a bit for the person before me to buy two watermelons, but me holding up the no one in line behind me was a sin) The cashier starts snipping at me, which stresses me out. I end up yelling at my husband on the other end of the phone, clearly stating his name. She then thinks I am yelling at her. She yells at me and threatens to kick me out of the store, loudly, so the few people in the store have taken notice. It was a degrading experience and completely unnecessary had this cashier noticed the initial stress I was clearly under. Instead, she made it worse and dehumanized me in the process.

I don't expect much from a discount grocery store, but I would expect common decency from the staff. I also expect cleanliness, which this store is also...

I love food lion store but the guy at the register acted like he didn't want to use his store discount card for me but he had no problem that it letting the guest before me use the car he second-guessed himself when I got up to the register I have four people in front of me and he asked each and every last one of them for their Food Lion card and out of the four three did not have a card and he offered to use his car which was the store courtesy card at the cashier is keep at the register when I got up there he didn't ask me anything he didn't say hello how you doing or anything when I said can you use the store card he had to think about it for about 10 seconds but she didn't do that with the...

Overall, this Food Lion is wonderful. I do hate to complain because the rest of the store outside the deli is, as I said, wonderful.

It is a hit or miss with the turn-over of the deli-counter staff. Today was the worst day ever. Trying to get help from the deli workers is frustrating for, at least, the last few years. Today is not an isolated incident but it was the worst of many frustrating incidents at this Food Lion.

I will change my review to 5 stars when the deli staff is nice to people. However, for a while I think I'll just go to another...
