I’ll start with the positives of this location: very clean, excellent Covid measures and the two front desk employees are very kind.
On to my experience: I paid for a full face wax, Tracy had done my wax. I have PCOS so I am used to getting waxed every 3-4 weeks. I work at a dermatologist office so I have an entire well tested routine to keep my skin calm and acne-free.
This wax was somewhat painful compared to other times I have gotten waxed at other locations and she went over the same spot 3+ times and tweezed. I thought she tweezing the few hairs that may have been left after the wax. In the lighting of the salon combined with my very red skin after the wax, it looked fine in the hand held mirror.
When I got home and saw my face after it calmed down, I was shocked to see that barely any hair was removed. My eyebrows still had hair in areas that were waxed as well as my chin, sideburns and neck.
I called to let them know that it appears that very little was actually removed and they kindly offered for me to come back free of charge 2 days later.
However, after 2 days, my skin was irritated, sensitive and red with red bumps and white heads all over There was no way that I could get another face wax without further damaging the area. I came in and informed them that I could not do the wax again and I would prefer a refund. Tracy took me to another employee (who was in the middle of doing another customers pedi) to show her my face. Then as I was in the process of getting my refund, an employee named Henry came up to me, without introducing himself or explaining what he was doing, and started to try to look under my mask. I took a step back and showed him and he said “oh you had this acne before this is not from the wax” when I tried to explain that, no, I did not previously have a whole patch of red raised bumps and whiteheads on only the area that was waxed, he repeatedly cut me off to say he “worked at the pentagon, he knows that I had acne before the wax” and told Tracy to not do a wax on people who have acne.
While yes, that’s great advice, I tried explaining multiple times I do not have acne in those specific areas-and he continued to cut me off and say that I do.
I got my refund, thanked the front desk employee and left.
If Henry did not try to insinuate that I had horrible skin before my wax I most likely would not have written this review as my matter was resolved and this salon was just not a good fit for me. But he had to repeatedly cut me off to say I had acne before my wax and that there was no way a wax can do...
Read moreI tried to book an appointment on a late Sunday afternoon, the Man that answered the phone said they would be closing soon, no more appointments available. I said ok, thank you! He called back 10 min later and said they had a cancellation and asked if I could come within the hour. I replied yes. He texted me 15 min later to say my nail tech would be ready within 30 min (asking me to come early). I arrive. There was no waiting area. So I had to sit in a pedicure booth, the shop was packed. Hannah- the tech that was to serve me was not ready, still dealing with a client. I waited 20 min. When I could have just showed up at my regular scheduled time. After Hannah is done with her client, she wants to immediately start my service, but she still has the other clients shavings/mail clippings all over her station. I ask her politely to wipe it. I wanted a new set of nails. She starts clipping them off. And then without any word, reason or why, she passes me off to Amy. So that she can go home. She doesn’t tell Amy what I want done, there is a communication issue. Also, because they were closing, they decided to give me my price, include a 12%tip and asked me to pay beforehand. They still had people coming in and out of the shop, no one else was asked to pay beforehand…. I left visibly upset, the nails I received, wasn’t what I asked for. And it was definitely not a VIP treatment. Especially from Hannah. Amy tried her best. And had a pleasant attitude. No one ever reached out to me concerning my concerns or leaving not happy. Even after I spoke to the guy at the front desk. For my first time, Not a good experience. Doubt I will be back. Definitely not VIP!!!
Edit in response to the “white man”. Hannah specifically told me the 12% was towards the tip. You had 4 other people in there when I was leaving. 2 of which came after me. If you can’t offer/accommodate vip service, especially at the end of the day when you know your technicians want to go home, then leave it at that and you shouldn’t be calling potential new guest to come in and experience what I did. I was fine waiting until the next day.
Also, a refund was never offered. You offered to let the “owner” know of these issues. I was literally crying/upset in anger and you let me walk out the door, no refunds offered or mentioned. Except “I’ll talk to Hannah, she shouldn’t have done that”…
When an automated text was sent out, to see how I liked my visit, I sent the same review, no response from you or the owners. I left a honest review of my experience, it was not VIP. And I stand...
Read moreMy spouse and I both went for a service at VIP Nails together, and it was the worst experience we've ever had.
At VIP Nails, my spouse was extremely unhappy because they didn't handle our nails carefully, and a lady named Cindy, who worked at VIP Nails, was not only very rude but also made fun of my wife.
Furthermore, at VIP Nails, their professionalism was lacking, and my wife suffered all night because they weren't careful, resulting in bruises. I strongly recommend not going back to VIP Nails.
We gave VIP Nails a chance and returned next morning after they promised to fix the issue, but they did nothing. They even neglected to dip my wife's foot in water as they should have at VIP Nails.
VIP Nails deserves zero stars, and I don't care for a refund. What's more concerning is how they mistreated my wife at VIP Nails, causing her severe pain and bruises, making it difficult for her to walk. This kind of neglectful service is unacceptable, and I plan to report it to the Better Business Bureau to bring attention to their discriminatory behavior at VIP Nails.
In addition to the owners response our review stands clear for what your employee has done and please do not accuse us of redicouls false statements as we are loyal consumers and been living in Fairfax for over 26 years. We are putting awareness for consumers to be alert from what we have received on our bad experience. We will be never returning as a future customer either because instead of you being sorry or to apologize you simply accusing the customer who paid you square. Horrible customer service response. Lastly the owner of the business not only responding in an aggressive manor without any apologies is also accusing us we are being abusive to their technician just by calling her being rude. Which sentence can you clarify we have used any inappropriate language. Your response clearly showes an arrogance and disrespectful once again to your consumers. We never received any...
