Last night, I was very disappointed and so was my son and husband. I have been going to this bowling alley (ASHLEY LANES) since I was a little girl along with my twin sister and I really don't understand why the owner refused to provide my 7 year old with bumpers. When we got there, I asked if they had any lanes available with bumpers, the man looked around and said no. My husband and I (after talking with someone) became informed that the lane we were on(lane #24) had bumpers, so my husband talked to the guy and he would not provide us with bumpers regardless that we are paying customers ($34.00), and I went and spoke with him and asked if he could provide us with bumpers or if we could wait for a lane that we could use with bumpers, and he replied, "I told you, I am not doing bumpers tonight". I said, "Sir, you said that there were no lanes available with bumpers, and that is not the same as "your not doing bumpers"". I can't believe that a man who owns a bowling alley that has been around since I was born, is refusing to provide his customers with what already is presumed as part of the "bowling package" of which is what we paid for. I hope we can get a new owner. This is the last bowling alley in West Ashley, and we have always enjoyed this activity as a family event- as a special occasion for all of us to have fun. Why is bumpers even an option when in all reality it is part of what we paid for. It is crazy that someone who doesn't want to deal with children or help make them happy along with his customers runs a bowling alley which is indeed a family oriented...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will NEVER go here again. After my husband has visited here his whole life and Iāve brought family for years, we had the worst experience recently. Because my niece and nephew were too tall according to their rules, we were not allowed to use the bumpers ābecause the older kids break them.ā Whatās funny about that is how there was another lane with all adults using the bumpers slamming the ball into them and another family with one kid that was below the height level and one above, so they were able to also use the bumpers since one kid was shorter. The mother was ramming the ball into the bumper, but we werenāt allowed to because the kids with us, who by the way werenāt strong enough to even throw the ball halfway down the lane, would break the bumpers. After arguing with the lady at the front desk who was extremely rude, we asked about getting a refund and leaving to which they told us no one is allowed refunds. To top it off, one of the other employees tried coming over to teach the kids how to throw the ball and weirdly hung around to cheer them on, being way over the top which made what was happening even more visible. The kids were so uncomfortable and kept asking us why the lady wouldnāt leave them alone and saying that they werenāt having fun and didnāt understand why they couldnāt have bumpers when they werenāt following the rules for other people. What a joke of a business!! Not only will we never visit here, but weāre telling everyone we know to never visit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis bowling alley is awesome and I quite enjoy spending time here. Bar staff is amazing and for the most part front desk is the same, however today I had a different experience and I need it to be known as the police couldn't do much. Putting this here as there wasn't much recourse, this evening 01/17/21, one of the workers at this bowling alley physically assaulted me in the men's bathroom because I brought my 9 year old daughter into the men's bathroom with me to use the facilities. He was an older black male. He legitimately came into the restroom while my daughter was using the stall and I was using the urinal and put his hands on me several times claiming that my daughter could not be in the men's restroom. This is obviously ridiculous as confirmed by the police that arrived. This is unacceptable and I have no other recourse other than posting here. I abosolutley love bowling here and the majority of the staff is amazing. But the event that happened tonight should not be overlooked. Police were called and I have a case number should anyone like to look into it themselves. Case #202200035752. Officer cobb and Davis responded. I can't believe that something like this can happen and no repercussions can be enforced by the authorities. I hope at the very least that upper management sees this and takes some sort of action on an employee completely out of line. This is in no way a negative look at the bowling alley itself and its staff, just this one...
