We just left our first and last time to King Claw in Charleston. Here was our experience........
Frankly I don't expect a response from King Claw on this nor do I want MORE excuses as to why we didn't get BASIC SERVICE at King Claw. Please don't insult me by telling me what King Claw's standards are. Your standards are what we experience daily and when standards aren't what a customer expects you tell the customer "I'm sorry" which DID NOT HAPPEN ONCE WITH YOUR MANAGER OR YOUR SERVER in this instance.
Your server's ignoring us and your manager cutting me off when I'm trying to inform him and help King Claw improve their service does not entice me to return or recommend King Claw as a restaurant option.
I hope your restaurants succeed but you must improve your listening skills and attention to your small ticket...
Read moreThe food and ambiance were perfect but the server was rude that she gave me attitude when I said, "This is what she's talking about about" and she responded with, "I know what she's talking about" with a rude tone and she proceeded on taking all our orders in the same tone! I wasn't talking to her. I was talking to my sister. I think she was rude because I have an Asian accent which should not matter because I'm a paying customer. I bet she wouldn't do that to the natives. I just composed myself. Not worth my time. Then she made us wait for our ticket while she serves the other table next to us to show us that she is able to do great service. She was talking nicely and poured each bag of their seafood on their plates (which she didn't do with mine), while keeping our tickets with her the whole time. She could have given us the tickets while doing what she was doing so we could work on our tickets as well so she could take those tickets with her before leaving us again. But nope! She gave us the ticket and made us wait, that was after already waiting for her to come back for our tickets. There was no sense of being mindful of customers' time. Take note, this is Charleston. Most of the people are on leisure or vacation. Y'all need to be nice because you got a job because of the tourists. We are a paying customers. We don't ask for free food. I am a generous tipper but the rudeness doesn't deserve a penny. But I still left 5 bucks out of pity and convinced my sister to leave 5 bucks as well even though she didn't want to because of her rudeness. So she still ended up with ten bucks after her treating us like crap. Talking about hypocrisy! You don't bring your attitude at work no matter how tired you are or how bad your day is going especially as a server because that requires alot of customer service and if you don't have that patience you have no business doing that job. You were hired to represent King Claw. You're carrying and representing their name. You are the face of their company and this is how you represent your company? I understand servers don't get a good pay as every servers say, but you agreed to that set up. Therefore you have to put your best foot forward. If you wanna succeed in life start with...
Read moreSo let me start off by saying I thought the food was pretty good, which is why I absolutely hate leaving reviews like this. I take a lot of things in consideration before leaving a review. We arrived a little later then the others who were with us. We were a party of 17. Problem 1: we were only provided with 1 waitress to handle everything. I have been to many restaurants that if you have a party larger than 10 they provide you with 2 servers. I didnt want to overwhelm her because we got there after she took the drink order, so I went up to the bar and ordered my drink. The pineapple upside down Martini was amazing, and the bar was super quick, for me at least. I returned to the table and she had started taking orders. Problem 2: we were not asked in the beginning who was going to be on the checks (reason this is a problem will come later). Problem 3: we waited exactly 2 hours for our food. There were people that came in after us that got their food, ate, and checked out before we even received our food. By the time we finally got our food (9:30) I was starving, lol I ate it pretty quicky. I thought that it was good but that could have been due to the fact that I was so hungry, it's kinda hard to gauge, but I sure ate it all. It came time to check out. We told then we were ready for our check. Problem 4 (combo with problem 2) it took over an HOUR to get our check. It took so long that half our party just left cash with one of us to check out for them. This was due to the fact that everything was put on 1 check instead of split up into separate check. So we waited an hour while they tried to sort everything out. We didnt leave the restaurant until after 11pm. It was unreal. I dont blame the waitress, as I feel she was set up to fail because she didnt have enough help to take care of our table. We had a good time with hgv our friends and we were supposed to go out afterwards but that 1 hour wait for the check really ruined everyone's night, like single handedly. I have to say just that experience alone, I doubt I...
