Targeted ads on social media are 50/50 when it comes to accuracy. In this case, it was 100% spot-on. I am an occasional massage girlie, who dreams of being able to afford a massage on a regular basis but who ends up going once a year at the most. When I started seeing the ads/sponsored posts for the Japanese head spa, I knew I needed to seek one out ASAP. Clearly, I was not the only one - in order to snag a 5pm appointment, I had to book 6 weeks out. My friends, it was worth the wait.

I arrived and was instantly greeted by Molly, the owner and cosmetologist/aesthetician/masseuse (??). Basically, she's the whole deal. She started off by using a fancy combo between a magnifying glass and an ultrasound device to check the health of my scalp and hair follicles, which was soooo cool to see on a screen. She then had me change into a towel wrap on top so my shoulders would be exposed for the treatment, and I got nice and snuggly on the table under super comfy and warm blankets.

The head spa treatment itself was so serene and peaceful and cleansing. She let me doze off as she applied different shampoos, conditioners, masks, cleansers, etc. to my hair and my face. There are two different water devices that she uses to rinse my hair - one feels like a standard water gun that you'd see at a salon, and the other can only be described as a water halo. It felt so cool. She asks preferences about scents, if you have any allergies, and what your goal is for the treatment.

The hour FLEW by and then it was time for the blowout. She again checked the health of my scalp and follicles and I swear my scalp was shining. After my hair was dry, it was so soft that I could not stop touching it. She graciously offered to find another 5pm slot to rebook me and I grabbed it.
