As someone who has been in the restaurant industry from many years I’ve never felt so furious and disrespected. Two friends and I sat on the patio and were never greeted. I waited 20 minutes before getting frustrated enough to just walk to the bar and order a drink. I don’t know the young lady’s name but she was very kind and understanding and served me in a very timely manner. Once returning to the table (which still had no menus or server) I continued to patiently wait another 20 minutes. There was a man turning on the heater and I asked him if we had a server (very politely) and he said someone would be over soon. Shortly after I watched two more tables be sat and they were greeted instantly with chips and salsa a server. Again, I went to the bar and ordered the tacos that I wanted since it was apparent that the only table of African Americans was not going to be acknowledged.
Finally I asked to speak with the manager who was not even present in the building. The bartender asked if I would like another drink while I wait so I thought I “might as well.”
Upon returning he came to the bar and asked me what the problem was about another 15 minutes later. I gave him a detailed description of how poor the service was and let him know that I was curious to understand why we were the only table not being served. He consistently talked over me as I explained why I was so agitated.
Never being in this situation before I did begin to raise my voice some because I did not feel that I was being heard. I felt if he was getting what he wanted because now I look like an angry black man in front of all the other customers (which is already what he saw) nonetheless I kept my composure for the most part. He could not answer me when I asked multiple times why we didn’t have a server at our table and all the other tables did, even after I kindly notified a few of the staff that no one had been over to see us.
I walked out embarrassed and slightly humiliated. But I will not return in the future. Neither will the others that were with me. Granted I tipped my bartender $15 on a $25 ticket then another $5 on a $6 drink while I waited....
Read moreI will never go back. I know that the back of the house hates last minute walk-ins. However, having worked f&b for years, I was planning on ordering the easiest item on the menu and making it as quick and easy for the staff as possible. I was even planning on leaving an immensely gratuitous tip for their flexibility.
Instead, I walked in with my date, we sat at the bar, and the bartender handed us menus. This was 20 minutes before they were supposed to close. One of the managers then came up and with an abundance of snarky attitude, informed us that they were closed. I looked around at the other people who hadn’t even gotten their meals yet, so said manager corrected himself and said the kitchen was closed. I knew the kitchen had started the closing process, but I tried to explain to the manager that we would order something quick and easy and be on our way. He refused, but suggested we stay and drink at the bar.
Needless to say, we didn’t spend a dime, and we walked out having felt insulted and patronized.
Case in point, had they gone just slightly above and beyond the lowest expectation for operating a restaurant, I would have made it up for the staff ten fold. Instead, the manager went with the rude, lazy, easy route and lost business for...
Read moreIf I could give this restaurant a zero star review I would. My partner and I go here regularly, well not anymore after tonight, the service is usually pretty good, but tonight we decided to get takeout and wow I just have to say DON’T DO IT. I checked our order before I left the restaurant and at glance everything looked fine, when I got home and actually opened my box I realized they had made my tacos with the wrong tortillas, making them inedible to me. I called to inform their of their mistake and ask that they just refund them since I’ve had a long day and don’t want to come back to get them remade, that I’m just tossing them and will eat the chips and salsa instead, but they refuse and inform me to get a refund I have to come back with the incorrect food. So I drive all the way back to the restaurant to get a refund on all the food return the poorly made tacos and return home still hungry empty handed. Unfortunately after seeing how management handles their mistakes, I never want to go here again, and will be suggesting the same to all my friends. Stay away, there’s plenty of options for a...
