I called Dick's on July 3rd, of this year inquiring about 5.56 NATO ammunition, after being on hold for 5 minutes someone in apparel picked up and made sure that the attendant in the firearms department picked up for me which was helpful. The young lady I spoke with informed me that they had plenty of 5.56 NATO ammo in stock and that I could come in whenever and purchase as much as I wanted. I thanked her and told her I'd come in the next day, July 4th, today.
I went in looking to buy 3 boxes, enough for to fill two magazines as one box won't fill one, two boxes will fill one with ten left over, and three boxes to have two full magazines of ammo. I waited for five minutes with my 85 year old grandmother, a broken back and a broken neck for assistance.
I had to walk to the front of the store to get someone then walk back to the firearms department. When I asked for three boxes of ammo, the guy was rude and said I can get you one box. I told him about the phone call I had with the young lady yesterday and he said that's impossible, it's always been policy to only allow one box of ammo.
I haven't even been able to take my rifle to the range yet because I couldn't find any ammo at reasonable prices up until now. I told the guy that it was quite an inconvenience to have me drive from James Island only to be turned down, I didn't purchase anything from them and I will never purchase anything from Dick's EVER due to the phone rep telling me one thing and then the store rep telling me another in addition to being rude and making me wait.
I was actually in the market for another gun safe, and was about to purchase one today along with 3 boxes of ammo, but since I was turned down, I'll be taking all future business elsewhere.
I'll order my ammo online from their competitor, with no restriction...
Read moreI shop at this store VERY often. With all the holidays I wasn't aware it was Sunday because I normally work on Sundays. So while shopping, a younger employee nicely said, " Just letting you know we close at 7:00, so if you want to take your stuff up front". I looked at my watch and it was 7:05 and said, "Oh,so sorry, I forgot it was Sunday!" When he told me they were closing, I was in the process of getting a bb gun for a kid in my youth group so all I wanted to do was grab the co2 cartridges so he could shoot it, but I couldn't find them. By this time a long haired male manager came by and I said, "Sir, where are the co2 cartridges? He says, "We keep them behind the counter, but you've been told SEVERAL times we are closed. We are open again tomorrow." I told him I was sorry, he gave me the co2, and I went to pay. As I was paying the manager was walking forward and I said, " Just to let you know, I was only told once" to which he replied "That's fine but I hope you'd be considerate to us as we've had a long week." Listen, I have worked for over 25 years in the restaurant industry and left HOURS after closing. I'm looking at my receipt right now and the time is 7:15. I held him up a whole 15 minutes and I didn't even MEAN to do that! Needless to say, tomorrow I will be going back and I will be returning the $100.85 since that 15 minutes wasn't worth it to him. It's very obvious to me this manager is more concerned with leaving on the minute than making his company money and wanting repeat customers. No worries because THIS store will not be getting anymore of my money as I don't want managers like this getting paid by...
Read moreThe store looked good and tidy but my only issue was with my cashier ”teammate” (Tiffany)she wasn’t pleasant and very rude. I had just cashed out I bought 2 boots and a pair of shorts and because it was raining so heavily outside and there was a flash flood warning that everyone got because the notification floated throughout the store on phones. I simply asked is she had a trash bag so that my stuff didn’t get rained on because I was riding a bicycle. she ignored me at first so I asked again she said they didn’t have any in a condescending tone and manner and snarled I asked again and replied “So your saying in this whole entire store there’s no trash bags at all?”she then raised her voice at me and said “I said no I don’t have any trash bags” I then asked a young girl standing watching if there was by chance any trash bags and the cashier or “teammate” Tiffany raised her voice again to remind me how they don’t have any the young girl then said let me check the back for one and got me one after a few moments of waiting. I spend my money at this store very frequently but lately due to rude customer service I’ve not been going I don’t know where the ball dropped on basic customer service skills and customer support… really disappointed with my experiences here with “teammates” such as Tiffany but the young girl was great and sweet and...
