A family place with a long history locally and I remember going there as child with my grandfather during 1980s. I recently moved back to the area and today I needed some supplies to finish up a renovation project at my home and my child and I drive down to Pyles to pick up the supplies. While we were standing in line surrounded by other customers a very unkept associate made references of drug making loudly at me I guess in an effort to try and embarrass me with my kid present and also the owner/boss, multiple coworkers and other customers. A couple of them told me they found the experience very wrong and unjustified. I can promise you after today if my child decides to stay in the area he won’t frequent this business like the last 3 generations of our family have. I love supporting businesses who’ve been here for decades and I have fond memories of, I have no issue spending a few extra dollars to “keep it local” but today I was disrespected to a level I’ve never experienced anywhere. And I’m sure it’s a memory my son will remember for a long time. Wish you the best but this kind of thing reflects badly on your business and I’m not one to take things public if I have an issue but today I was embarrassed with a handful of folks around including my 8 year old son. My mawmaw went there. My mom went there and I have shopped there for as long as I can remember. I go to F.M. Pile Hardware for all of my electrical, plumbing and canning supplies. They always have what I need whether I know it or not. Their employees are pleasant and very knowledgeable. They are always helpful and make you feel like you know what you are doing. Today I went there to compare lawnmowers. I got a guy that answered all my questions and I came away with a new Toro. Another plus for shopping at Pile Hardware is that they have a local shop and repair various types of equipment such as weedeaters, lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc. It's a small business and they make you feel like family. From the time you enter the door you are Greeted, asked if you would like help or treated like an old friend! The staff there are very knowledgable and always willing to help you find everything you need for the project you're working on. Prices are much better then stores like Lowes, Home Depot and other national chains. I used to dread going into a hardware store- but going into Piles is like stepping into the small town hardware store I grew up knowing as a young adult.
