Gita and Jaypal run this perfect little family-owned shop with efficiency, incredible service and personal warmth. I love going there and am always greeted when I walk in! They’ve created the most complete Indian food store in the tri-county Charleston area. Each aisle is packed with fresh, healthy and often organic foods that enable us to cook our favorite dishes. Gita’s superb hand-made chutneys and ready-made side dishes are in the cooler….try her tomato chutney—-addictive! Ask Jaypal about Ayurvedic remedies, learn more about Hindu holidays and customs or just hang out to meet other foodie friends. Compared to other Indian Grocery stores in South Carolina this store is extremely OVERPRICED. Example: Vicco Turmeric cream is priced over $8, but at a similar Indian store in Columbia I purchased this cream for about $3. This store's Corn flour was also overpriced. I also don't like that many of their products DO NOT have prices attached to them. Asked the cost of Serrano peppers the wife gave one amount and the husband yelled out a higher price and the wife seemed surprised. This is a red flag that they will charge what they want depending upon the customer! We do not spend money with someone that is trying to take...

In my adventures of new Instant Pot recipes, I came across one for Coconut Tandoori Chicken and needed a special spice that I knew I couldn’t get anywhere else but at an Indian grocery store. I walked in and immediately was greeted by a woman behind the cash wrap. Not just a “hello” but she was genuine with her greeting. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome. I knew nothing of the spice I needed except for the name. I asked for assistance and was shown what I was looking for. Thankful that there are still wonderful people in this world. Will come again when I learn more about the mass quantities of spices...
