Went in to see if they would be interested in the 1966 Craft Associates chair I had. The woman who greeted me was friendly; I asked if the owner were there and told her what I wanted. She said they usually did this by appointment; I said I could come back if need be. Just a minute, she said, and went back to speak to "one of the owners" who was there. I browsed around for a couple of minutes. The owner came out and, without so much as a "Hello" barked at me, "What do you have?" I described what I had. "What kind of chair," she growled, "dining room or living room?" Living room, I said, and repeated that it was made by Craft Associates of Wilkes-Barre, PA; she seemed not to know what I was talking about. "Is it in excellent condition?" she challenged. It's in fair condition, I said, being honest, the upholstery needs a little help. "I wouldn't be a bit interested," she snapped, "we don't do upholstery." Thanks for your kindness, I said, then asked why she was so hostile. "I'm not hostile," she snapped back, hostilely, "why don't you try the store around the corner; maybe they're not hostile."
