Security told me they would call me a taxi after I got doctors approval and handed the discharge team the ride share request from. They confirmed details on form and told m eit would be 30min wait for taxi so I wait patiently in lobby. Then an extremely rude white male security guard and a white blond woman started screaming at me to take the bus and threw me out after they already agreed to call a cab. Security started fight with handicapped black guy and threw him out 5min earlier. Initially after waiting 30min for cab I checked status when asked by security but she said she never called them. Then she said she would so I wait more. Then security screams at me to wait down block when I can hardly walk, they didn't give me taxi cab license plate number or make and model of car, or where it would arrive. Security just said walk down road to leave. What a jerk. The white girl screamed at me to take the bus and said I was pissing her off by waiting 30min in discharge lobby for taxi to arrive and stormed out angrily. Upon her return she still had same rude tone. She walked out from behind her desk to confront and try to provoke me. I had just gotten jumped 10 against 1 the night before and they tried to fight me in lobby for no reason after I was done. I politely explained I was just waiting for taxi and I gave them taxi request from and it was approved by that same front desk and by doctor and nurse. They told me they would call cab and to wait in lobby. I talked calmly politely but they were rudely raising voice with nasty tone screaming at everyone I. The lobby to leave. They lied about calling me a cab but then never did just so they could throw me Atrium health has terrible customer service. It's all women with nasty attitudes who hang up the phone on you, refuse to book appointments, slander you to coworkers, they block your phone number from calling them, their nurses refuse to treat you at multiple atrium locations. They ban you from booking appointments for 1 year if you ever miss one. All of their doctors hide behind closed doors and schedule you months out. They give free service to people without insurance, but if you pay them thousands of dollars and have insurance they refuse to treat you and throw you out. Every time you call atrium you get hung up on. Crime has risen because their negligent psychiatry staff don't treat anybody. They don't have enough doctors. The doctors they do have don't take appointments. Security throws you out. Everyone who answers the phone is a rude nasty women who gives you attitude and screams at you and hangs up on you. Atrium health has terrible management. their patient bill of rights is a fraud. Their first right is to be treated with dignity but they hang up on you every time you call and they don't take appointments and they throw you out if you do have an appointment and they lie about calling you a cab just to throw you out if you're patiently waiting 20 minutes for a cab. Atrium health is terrible. I left hardly able to breath and walk, and they promised a cab, but when I was waiting for a cab, they had security and some nasty blonde haired women named covey or something scream at me and throw me out and demand I take the bus instead. They never said where the bus stop is or what bus number will take me home or what taxi to look for or what kind of car or anything. I complied and immediately left upon request so their attitude is unacceptable. If you show up to hospital after getting jumped by a gang of 10 black kids downtown the sociopaths that work there will have no empathy for you and just scream at you to walk out and get on the bus. They don't care about your injury. The blonde haired girl who works at front desk is a sociopath. I was sitting patiently not saying anything to anyone waiting for my taxi and she just gets out from behind desk and walks over to start telling at me to take the bus. I calmly responded I am patiently happily waiting for a cab. she said I was pissing her off by waiting for a cab and stormed out. Why does she work at discharge...

I found out right after having major brain surgery that a resident in training had performed my surgery without my consent. That Dr. Asher my original surgeon who was to perform my brain surgery had not performed it. That Dr. Asher just left this resident in training to operate on me during a major surgery. That just shows how much Dr. Asher cared for me as one of his patients. I put my trust in him as well as Atrium Medical Center only for that to happen. How I found out about this resident in training performing my surgery was by pure coincidence. Once my brain surgery was completed I was being moved to ICU. At that time I hear a male's voice say; "She fell off the stretcher!" Then I heard a female's voice reply; "What?" Again, the male's voice sounding anxious stated; "She fell of the stretcher!" The female's voice replied; "Oh, no! anxiously replying as well. It did not seem as if much time had passed when I heard the same male's voice say; "This is my last residency." Then I could here a group of female's saying; "Congratulation." I'm assuming they didn't realize I was alert due to the conversation they were having over my head. When my family and friends were finally able to come into ICU and visit with me. I let them know all that had transpired. While a friend of the family was visiting they sked the nurse what had happen to my forehead. The nurse said that she would let the doctor know that he had questions, but no one got back with us. You will never know how scared I was for my family to leave me there by myself. The fear from having my own surgeon pass me on to a resident in training for my major surgery without my consent. To being dropped off the stretcher right after brain surgery. Having blood coming from my forehead that had nothing to do with the area in which my incision was. To a nurse being aggressive with me when I complained about something cold running down my forehead after surgery. From begging to be taking off the high dose of morphine while being in ICU. To quickly being moved from ICU into recovery when asking about being dropped after surgery. To being released from the hospital the same day of being put in recovery. When asking once again about being dropped after surgery. To making a complaint with the hospital. Letting them know I have scars that would indicate I was dropped. For the hospital to do a "so call" investigation for what seemed like a thirty minute time frame. To call me back to say that they didn't see any evidence of a fall occurring. I told the hospital there were so many cameras that I witness, especially in ICU. For them to come back with another cover up to say the cameras were not working that day. So, I told them I would send them the pictures of the scars on my left arm, left leg, forehead, and my top lip. For the hospital to say that's ok they didn't need them. I wanted answer so bad that I couldn't wait for the follow up with Dr. Asher. Which I would have never had the follow up if I wouldn't have called to have a follow up appointment scheduled. Once I addressed my concerned to Dr. Asher he told me the bruises came from laying on the operating table during my surgery. When I told Dr. Asher that all the scars were on the same side in which the surgery was done. That all of the scars were on the left side of my body. His reply was; "I don't know what to tell you." Then I asked him; "How would I have known the residency in training was in his last residency, if not for me hearing him say it? At that time I could tell the conversation was over due to there being no response from him. I can imagine how many patients this has been done to. That they allow the residents in training to practice on patients without the patients consent. Plus, how many patients have loss their lives because of it. It was nothing but the grace of God I didn't die from falling that hard straight after brain surgery. I can imagine what they would have told my family was the cause of death. So much in between happen that the nurses and doctor know about, but they will continue to...

My wife seen a doctor in CMC for pain in her right flank. Upon diagnosis the doctor found that she had a gallstone in a remanent gallbladder that had been left from a previous surgery. He instructed her that he would do a scope procedure to locate the stone and remove it if possible. After the procedure she was to stay in the observation wing for six hours to make certain no issues arose. After the procedure I was informed that the procedure was not successful as he figured it would be. Obviously I was a bit disturbed by a doctor performing a procedure on my wife with the feelings that it was not going to work. Once she was taken to observation she began having stomach pains and was told by the nursing staff that it was just gas pains and after the six hour period she was sent home with no further discharge information. After returning home she continued to have pains that were increasing in level. Wednesday morning around she returned to the emergency department only to find out that she had pancreatitis caused by the procedure. In addition she was being admitted due to the pain and hospital staff was not able to fully diagnose what was happening. By Wednesday evening she had several scans, blood tests, and ultrasounds finding that the pain was a combination of pancreatitis and a gall stone being lodged in the remanent gallbladder causing irritation and inflammation of the gallbladder area. Nothing further was done on Wednesday. Thursday another ultrasound performed, at this the doctor instructed that he would be putting my wife on antibiotics due to an infection in her gallbladder. She had already went through two other ultrasounds of the gallbladder area and they did not put her on medication for this infection. The hospital staff then said that they would be sending her home on Saturday without surgery and once she was recovered from the infection they would schedule the procedure. The thought of the staff sending my wife home with the same pain she presented with initially six days later made me very uncomfortable. Needless to say after quite a long conversation with multiple staff members, and threatening legal action they blocked out time on Friday for her to have the procedure done. At the time of the surgery we were instructed that the procedure would take 30-45 minutes. She left the PRE-OP area at 1:47pm and the surgery began promptly at 2:00pm according to the hospital staff. Receiving an update at just before 3:00pm, I was told everything was going fine, she was stable and that she was doing good. Receiving another update at just after 4:00pm of the same nature I began to get concerned as it had now been two hours for a 45 minute procedure. I asked that they get me more of an update and received nothing. Around 4:30pm, I demanded a doctors consult and finally received one around 4:45pm letting me know that there were some complications by all in all the surgery went well and they were in the process of closing and she would be in recovery were I could be with her as planning in about 30-35 minutes. When she reached recovery, we had talked with several of the staff including a doctor and nurse that were going to be in the operating room, letting them know that I needed to be back with her as soon as possible as she has panic attacks when she wakes up from anesthesia and it is much better for her if I am there. We were instructed that this would not be an issue and they would come and get me as soon as she was rolling out of the operating room. This did not happen, in fact I was informed that after she reached recovery that it was against HIPPA laws for me to be with her in recovery even though she had signed the paperwork and asked that I be there with her. At this point I asked to speak with the hospital administrator. After several attempts I was able to reach the Nursing Admin who listened to my concerns, agreed and immediately had her moved to her room where I could be with her for recovery. Although the NA was amazing and the surgery was successful I am very disappointed in the care that...
