My wife, grandson and I tried Maharani restaurant just last night. Seems most Indian restaurants have gone strictly, take-out mode. Happy to find this dine in restaurant. Friendly greeting as we entered. Restaurant was fairly busy, but we were seated right away. Server was very accommodating and helpful. I love Indian food, but not so much the spice. I got my food exactly the way I liked it and lost none of the flavor. Food was great, service was great. Environment and atmosphere didn't shout, Indian restaurant, but it is well appointed and clean. I'd call it up-scale spartan. Price is maybe a bit on high side, but with rising costs on everything I'd say it's not too out of line. We will go again, for sure. Passage to India used to be our go to Indian restaurant, but no dine in any longer. Maharani is closer, comparable price, great food. I'm thinking my new go-to Indian restaurant. Highly recommend, when in the mood for Indian food. Wife is from India and she enjoyed the...
Read moreI tried the lunch buffet about a month ago which I thought was good, probably because it was self serve. Went back for dinner w/ family about 2 wks ago which left a bad impression due to poor service. It was a Sunday evening & it took over an hour for our food to come out. Drink refills were far & few between, plus it was extremely warm inside the restaurant. Then when our ticket came it was billed all together w/ the request to go up to the cashier to pay individually. Well there was 1 person at the register handling dine in customers as well as pick up orders which was a complete unorganized mess as everyone was standing around waiting for a long time. Pick up customers were yelling & storming out bc the cashier was getting orders mixed up. She nudged me out of the way to handle another pick up customer at which point I told her no bc I have already been in the restaurant for several hours & just want to pay for my meal. The food was decent but will never go back bc of...
Read moreOrdered takeoff via Uber Eats during a layover downtown. First off, the food was wonderful. The spice level was spot on as requested and the portion sizes were very nice! The entire meal was delicious. I started with an order of vegetable samosas followed by the Chana Masala (spicy). Fantastic! The garlic naan was the perfect touch to round off the meal!
I have ordered Uber Eats and Grub Hub more times than I can count since the world ended via Covid and I have to take my hat off to Maharani! On top of honoring my request for utensils, they provided a tray!!! Now this might now seem like a big deal, but being able to plate your food after months and months of eating out of a take away container is.... well, it just really made the experience a rather pleasant one! Great thinking and consideration by the folks at Maharani! Thank you so much!
I can not wait to...
