I took a $10 community full body sculpt class. It’s a cool space inside. They still need to work out their sound system, you can’t hear the instructor and the music volume is just off. The instructor was not clear on her directions we were often left looking at each other saying “what?” and trying to figure it out. One time someone asked for help and the instructor tried to demo and did the wrong movement which caused more confusion. The parking is terrible- if you go during the day give yourself an extra twenty minutes.
That’s not the worst part though. After the class, I’m putting my shoes on and the instructor has the audacity to say to me “keep coming and you’ll be in shape in no time!” I’m not a large girl, but I’m not a super skinny Pilates girl either. I work out daily, I’m muscular. I’m a size 4 to give you a frame of reference. I lift weights and run (and was the only one who didn’t need to take a spring off because my upper body was strong enough to handle it). I do, as a lot of women, have body image issues. This comment sent me spiraling. What was meant to be something fun as a change of pace ended up being the worst part of my week. I truly hope anyone in the fitness industry realizes the power their words- albeit a simple phrase- can...
Read moreToday me and my brother was anticipating on attending @7:30 class once we arrived the doors were locked. My brother and I waited several mins until employee opened the door, once we entered the receptionist stated we were not able to join the class due to being "late" although our late attendance was due to employee, I proceeded to ask the receptionist if there was any chance we could reschedule or be given a refund for the inconvenience, she then stated the new policy will not allow her to do so, receptionist tone was very nasty and body language was careless during interaction, the receptionist then mentioned she would" write a note in the system" in which I believe was not done. I felt as if she did not have any good customer service etiquette and was very prejudice towards me and my brother, was seeming as if the receptionist did not want to assist us. I had high expectations for this company and was very excited for our first time experience doing Pilates. I am very disappointed in the outcome and would not recommend to book a class at this...
Read moreI have been coming to BodyRok for over a year and it is THE BEST Pilates studio in Charlotte. First of all, their staff and owner are so kind and understanding. While other studios I have experienced don’t afford that kind of customer service. The routines are so well rounded and you truly work out every body part of your body. With this class you actually build a booty & walk out with abs!!! Every instructor at BodyRok is incredibly knowledgeable and will help you with whatever you need or if you’re pro let you do your own thing. The reformer by the way is also state of the art- a lot of studios don’t have this sturdy of a reformer with easy to use springs and a well designed carriage. The BodyRok studios reformers are spaced out generously which allows you space to breathe between your neighbor unlike other clubs. As an FYI grippy socks are required which in my opinion is the only way to go because it is much more sanitary. If you’re looking for great culture, community & want to transform your body...
