The food is okay but you have to double check your order. Today my job decided to order from here and of course my order was missing items. I ordered the chicken phat salad expecting something similar to the picture on there website, however I received a salad with chicken and beans on the side, no shell or rice. What's a taco salad without the shell?? I went to the restaurant and was told by the cashier that the shell was under the salad and they no longer put them on the side...well I went back to my car and double-checked under the mountain of salad and I didn't have a tortilla, shell, nothing but Styrofoam. I went back inside and she acted as if I didn't understand that it was under the salad, I then had to show her I have no reason to lie about a shell! She then gave me a shell in a plastic to-go bag like I'm a dog. Her attitude and demeanor was not apologetic nor concerned at all. 1/16/25 The office wanted to order from here again and again orders were not correct! I did not bother calling and driving back up there today as it seems to be consistent so we will not be back. When I arrived for my order the staff were at the front on their phones, they seemed bored however my order for $100 was not correct. If possible please refund our $10 tip!

If you’ve seen my reviews before, you know I’m all about great food and meeting new people. My recent visit to Phat Burrito in LoSo Charlotte was a blast! I ended up here thanks to my brother’s suggestion, similar to my experience at Mad Greek Charlotte(definitely check that review out!). As soon as I walked in, I got this awesome vibe that reminded me of ‘Donna’ from That '70s Show. If you’re not familiar with her, you might miss the reference, but trust me, Liz totally nailed that energy. While my brother was pondering the menu, I struck up a full-blown conversation with her, and she instantly knew who I meant! Liz is not just friendly—she’s absolutely charming, with long blondish-red hair. Her customer service was incredible. She took our orders while keeping our chat lively and even helped me choose my meal. I asked for half tofu and half veggies, and I ended up with a bowl instead of a burrito, but honestly, I didn’t mind at all. The food was fantastic! Liz apologized for the mix-up, but I was just happy to dig into my meal. The only downside? Parking can be tricky. But the location is super convenient, so I’ll definitely be back! Thanks, Liz, for making my visit so enjoyable!

Food is okay but atmosphere is not for people of color/people who expect to get what is advertised. My friend and I walked in and were not greeted. A few moments after a Caucasian couple walks in, the waitress greets them and explains their specials. When the waitress was walking by us, I said "excuse me" and asked if she wouldn't mind explaining their special for today. She then went on a rant about how they cook the special instead of what it included or the price. I then told her we would like to look at the menu and would order in 60 seconds. The Caucasian couple ordered and we're served way before us despite us being there first. There was barely anyone inside so no excuse. We waited about 10 minutes for our food, and when we received it, there was not complimentary chips and salsa provided as the menu mentions. I asked the waitress and she stated that it's only when we dine in?? The menu doesn't state this and regardless we basically dined in as we had to wait 10 minutes for two burritos. Not only did I pay $17 for a burrito but I left a tip. Highly disappointed in my experience and again this is not a business that POC friendly.

As a preface, I was a big fan of the original location and used to go weekly. I went into the new location knowing it would be different, but just hoping for the same flavor experience I had so many years ago.

Food: In that regard, it was the best experience I could hope for. So many years have passed, but the chicken quesadilla and salsa delivered for me like they used to weekly. If you're feeling nostalgic or trying for the first time, I think it's worth it, and the value is definitely there.

Atmosphere: being a fan of the original, that would be difficult to duplicate, but it's getting there. Great lighting without being overly bright, and enough charm to evoke memories of the original, but I thought the original was perfect due to its imperfections.

Service: I had wonderful service just as I remember, and Brittani was just plain awesome - she's a keeper for sure! Hats off to everyone in the kitchen for their ability to bring back one of my favorite meals from so long ago in excellent form.

In conclusion, I'll definitely return when I have the opportunity. In a perfect world for me, it could have reopened in the same location and same building along with the salsa bar. Times change, but it's absolutely worth getting over here to taste the same...

Very Meh. I'm very disappointed because I had heard so much about this place, and never got to try the original one before it closed. So I wanted to try it out once it reopened. I ordered a steak burrito and queso. I ordered online via toast tab and when I came to pick up my order I assumed there would be a quick pick up spot for an already placed order that is sitting on a shelf. When I asked an employee where to go for pick up orders he pointed at the long line of people waiting to place in person orders. Didn't even bother to use words to address a customer. My order was in a bag with no receipt to indicate what the order actually was, and when I got home I found that my burrito was missing all the additional toppings like the pico, lettuce, and slaw. In addition to this, the burrito lacked flavors majorly and was cold (I picked up order right at the ready time and live 10 mins away) . And it definitely didn't live up to the giant burrito stories I heard. It was the size of any burrito you would get from any Mexican joint or even Moe's or Chipotle. I believe this is going to be a one and done trip for me. Doesn't come close to living up to the hype. Disappointing...
