I was going to wait until my braces process was fully completed to do my review but I just can’t wait because they are that amazing. I will update this review after but let me just say that I started this journey with this practice about two years ago and I’ve felt like I’m apart of a family since day one, which is awesome because if you didn’t know this is a family business and it shows. They treat you like you’re apart of the family and not just a number or a walking paycheck for them. I visited several other Orthodontist offices in Charlotte before visiting this one for a consultation and let me just tell you I’ve been blown away with how much these doctors care since day one. Debbie did my consultation, she’s amazing and I didn’t feel any pressure at all from her. I was told by other doctors that I’d have to receive jaw surgery and all these other crazy things before being able to obtain braces but not here. Debbie and Sam explained everything in full details and even informed me after close examination, pictures and x-rays that my teeth were in good condition to get braces the SAME day IF I wanted to. I chose to move forward that same day and as I said all pictures and exams was completed, the payment process was explained in full details and I met Sam (the doctor that has been perfecting my smile since day one) that SAME day. I left my very first appointment with braces and as this process has went along I’ve received nothing but top notch customer service from the front desk staff, the assistants to the doctor, and the doctor himself. My braces have been paid off in full for a while now and although my treatment isn’t over (because I had huge spaces between just about every tooth and a large overbite) they STILL treat me the same, like family. Braces aren’t fun but this staff sure make the process a positive one, not mention Sam is very easy on the eyes and super kind. It can’t hurt to have someone nice to look at while going through this awkward phase of braces. For the fellas the women that work here are also very kind and nice to look at. Although looks of the staff isn’t important it does help to look forward to your appointments versus dreading them. Everyone loves to receive great customer service especially from good hearted people that just so happen to be attractive also. My teeth are looking amazing and the process is almost over but I’m kind of dreading to have to say goodbye to such an amazing team of people. I don’t want to leave...
Read moreFelt like just another number and dollar at this place. Went in March 15 of 2021 and expressed my desire to have my midline corrected. After PROMISING me that they could fix midline and taking a huge deposit from me, treatment started that day. About 6 months in to treatment things shifted as I was seeing doctor Alex who stated every visit that he was using a treatment to get all the teeth into proper position while working on midline. I then noticed that every time I went in for a visit, I would be seen by different doctors(which would have been fine with me if they all had the same vision and plan, but they didn’t). This one visit I was seen by Dr Emily who stated that they would work on getting teeth straight then it would be easier to work on midline toward the end of treatment. At another visit, I was then seen by Dr Sam and was told “I don’t think we can get the midline corrected all the way, but we will try to get close.” At this point I’m over this place so I ask to see Dr. Alex only as our vision for my end goal seemed to line up and I enjoyed his service. Things seemed to be back on track for a little while, then all of a sudden Dr Alex was no longer coming in to that particular office. He was now mostly at their pediatric office. I was now seen mostly by Dr Sam. My Braces were scheduled to come off March of 2023 but of course needed more time as midline was not corrected and bite did not line up. Finally the day comes, June 21, 2023 to get braces off and procedure was done by Dr Sam who made it the most horrible day in that office. He came to me and I was expressing that I’m not sure one side of the bite was over all the way so may need more time and I also had concerns about midline still not being corrected. He then proceeds to pop off brackets without taking a look at my concern. Everything was done in a matter of 20 min. He popped everything off and then left me with one of the dental assistants. There was no follow up to see if anything else was needed. There was no customer service given by him(which is his usual). So pretty much I feel like these folks told me what I wanted to hear to get me to put braces on, took 8k of my money and still my midline, which was my ONLY reason for wanting braces, is still not corrected. I am not happy with the...
Read moreMy daughter had very crowded teeth and we had went to Star orthodontics first. They were very upfront about the fact that she would have to get her teeth taken out and the price was around 4k. Just to avoid getting her teeth extracted, we went to Burrow, Welchel, & Culp Orthodontics. They told us that she’d be fine without getting any teeth attracted and the price for us here was around 7k. Because of the sole fact that she wouldn’t get her teeth extracted we went with this orthodontics office. Everything was fine until a year after she got her braces on where they informed us that she’d need to get four teeth removed. They had made it seem as if that wouldn’t be the case which was the ONLY reason we decided to get her braces here. We ended up paying 1k out of pocket for her extractions and she then had to have her braces for another year to close her gaps. It would have been much quicker if her extractions were done at the beginning of treatment, which was what Star orthodontics had told us from the jump. Fast-forward we end up moving states and they inform us that there would be no branches where we’re located. They suggested we travel for the rest of her appointments, which was ridiculous since we now live 25 hours away. We ended up going to an orthodontist near us and they charged us about $900 for her retainers and to get her braces off. Mind you she now has a small gap in her two front teeth so I’m not sure if her braces were supposed to stay longer or not. We’re now about $9,000 in and there’s absolutely no way I’m paying for her braces again. Furthermore, while I was already in a payment plan with Burrow, Welchel, & Culp Orthodontics, they charged me like $750 out of nowhere. How is it fair that I had to pay $900 for her retainers at a different office as well as $750 for treatment that was never finished? Please save yourself the headache and just go to Star orthodontics. They’re so straightforward and so much more affordable. I regret it so much that I didn’t go with them in the first place. I wasted time and money for...
