Latda Asian Food Market — Local services in Charlotte

I wasn’t feeling well all week and was craving some hot, comforting food. I visited Latda Asian Store after seeing a food reviewer enjoying the most delicious-looking wings and soup from this place. I went in hoping for the same experience and ordered chicken pho or kao poon whichever they had available but ended up receiving a chicken stir fry dish instead, possibly Pad Thai. Food was hot and packaged well. I didn’t eat it because the chicken wings had some tempura-style breading, and the noodle dish contained peanuts, which I personally despise. I would never order Pad Thai, no offense to those who enjoy it.

Not wanting to cause conflict, especially since the dish was already prepared, I decided to take it and leave. While the staff is pleasant, the atmosphere didn’t feel particularly welcoming and I won’t go further into that. I absolutely love all cultural food and have had wonderful experiences at other similar places in Charlotte that are both delicious and inviting. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the experience I hoped for, and I won’t be visiting this...

I’m usually one who doesn’t leave reviews when I have not so good experiences but this one I will. My friends and I went to this market yesterday based on recommendation from Tiny a tiktoker who comes to this location to eat and get grocery supplies which is what we were wanting to do. As we are no strangers to food other than soul food. We were told they only cook for family on the weekends (no other reviews mention this btw) Nothing wrong with that but the tone felt as if it was said to be dismissive. As someone who’s been in customer service over 10 years and an empath—we left there spending no money and feeling astonished because the energy wasn’t welcoming. I’ll go to another market and get things to make my own kathiew, sticky rice...

My first time there and the lady was very welcoming and friendly. My husband and I love the hospitality she has given... Making the visit very comfortable as if we know one another forever like any Thai family member. She was very helpful with some of the things in the grocery store along with the fresh meals made there. The food there taste like home and would be back for more. My children even like the food. Would recommend anyone looking for good...
