This company is close to my house and after asking for a quote on fixing the hinges on my laptop I thought the price was good and the business was convenient so I would give them a try. I did not do my due diligence to seek out reviews for this company. I started this process at the end of June and I did not receive my computer back and fixed until late October! And that was only after I had to threaten a lawsuit and got a lawyer involved.
Here are the major issues. Communication and Professionalism--James has the worst customer service of any individual I have met. He will not return phone calls. Would not give updates on my repair. When confronted about the lack of communication he simply said that he would no longer fix my computer. He went back on his word. He used profanity when I confronted him. He threatened me when I told him I would have to sue if he did not uphold our business agreement to fix my computer saying, "If you do that, that would be the worst mistake of your life. You won't be able to walk around in this town any more if you decide to do that."
Business practices--James requires that you pay for parts and services upfront with no guarantee that those parts will arrive nor that the services will be completed. Upon trying to fix the hinges and put a new lid on my laptop one of his employees cracked my screen. The employee did not alert me to this issue until I called to check on status (They never call you to inform you, you have to always hunt them down through a phone screening process). Once I called he said that he broke the screen and had ordered another one and that cost would be covered by them. When that new screen came in 4 weeks later, it was faulty. So they had to order another one. 5 more weeks went by and they couldn't tell me where the part was. The employee said he had a tracking number he would send to me, James said there was no tracking number. They finally got tired of me calling and asking and told me that I was out of luck and they would no longer due business with me and wouldn't even refund my money.
Get a lawyer to make sure they at least do part of what they said. In the end I paid for the new lid and hinges and I also had to pay for half of the cost of a new screen that they broke! I agreed to pay this through my lawyer just to rid myself of this horrible experience. When I received my laptop back I had 3 screws missing on the back casing, my wifi dongle was gone, and a piece of paper wadded up in my machine.
I recommend that you steer clear of James, his horrible attitude and his shadiness. I will be happy to discuss this experience with anyone who needs more information. I hope that James will...

It was never repaired even though I paid for it to be repaired. The other shop wouldn't respond to my inquiries and finally sent it back to me, only to find that the problem was not fixed. I explained the issue to James. I sent him the laptop, and he repaired it and returned it to me within a week. This was 2 years ago and it is still in use by my daughter. Excellent customer service. Excellent communication, and above all, Excellent work! This was a common problem, an overheating motherboard, but apparently, there aren't many out there who have the equipment to repair it correctly. I trust him with any motherboard issues.
