Ace Repair Service! I have an older, but not ancient, french door style Whirlpool Refrigerator Freezer. It wasn't working reliably. If I fiddled with the temp knobs I could often (but not always) coax it to run through a cooling cycle. A friend told me to call MasterTech as they had serviced appliance in her home and she liked them.
I called, a tech came, diagnosed the problem, suggested a new thermostat and relay should solve the issue and I authorized the ordering of new parts and paid the tech for the service call - he also showed me how to goose the thermostat knob to rouse the fridge to run the compressor (it involved tapping the knob with my knuckle - honest). That I way I could nurse the old fridge till proper replacement parts arrived.
While the parts were on-order Heydlauff and MasterTech struck a deal resulting in the MasterTech repair folks becoming part of Heydlauff's. That is there story to tell - in any event - the same Master Tech person who diagnosed my issue came back to repair the problem as a Heydlauff Tech and my appliance is currently doing its job. Read moreI have been a Heydlauff's customer for ten years. Until recently I used them for repair and kept buying my appliances at big box stores. Those appliances would be covered by a crappy warranty that would take a month to get someone out to "fix" it and then it wouldn't even be fixed. I would be relieved when the warranty expired and I could call Heydlauff's again. Heydlauff's repairman is punctual, personable and knowledgeable. What's more is that he usually can get to me within 24 hours. That's service! Within the last year both my washer and dryer broke beyond repair. I called Heydlauff's and the salesman was able to figure out what I needed over the phone. I didn't even have to go in to the store, he took my credit card number and each time my new appliance was installed and working THE NEXT DAY. This is unheard of from the big box competitors. Read moreI'll start by saying that they are very friendly and helpful on the phone. Initially I called with some part numbers for my washing machine to check pricing and availability. I work a full time job and fixing things around the house sometimes has to wait until the weekend. This morning I tore into the washing machine and found the problem component. After doing a google search I saw they were open and thought "great, I'll have this fixed before lunch". Upon calling to confirm that the part was in stock, I was informed that they don't sell parts on the weekend and could I call back on Monday. Keep in mind that I won't be off work before they close on Monday so unfortunately they lost a sale to Amazon who will have the part at my house Sunday for half the price.
