Pierce Lake Golf Course is easily one of the better public tracks I’ve played in Michigan. It offers a great mix of scenic views, thoughtful design, and excellent value.
The course was in very good shape overall. The fairways were well-manicured, and the bunkers were well-maintained—unfortunately, I became pretty familiar with them! The greens were a bit beat up in spots, but still playable and didn't take too much away from the round.
The layout is a lot of fun, with a nice variety of holes and tee boxes that challenge you without being overly punishing. I especially enjoyed the back nine—it felt more secluded and had more character.
Staff were friendly and helpful for the most part, though the pro shop could use a little more enthusiasm. That said, pace of play was perfect, and the experience overall was smooth from start to finish.
For the price, it’s one of the best values in the area. If you're looking for a well-maintained course with a fun layout and a bit of that "up north" vibe, Pierce Lake is absolutely worth the trip. I’ll...
Read moreVery nice course. Fair, yet challenging. Decent prices too, especially for twilight. The issue I have with this course is the staff appears to be either poorly trained or incompetent. Every time I go there, some type of problem pops up. Today I waited in a line with a total of two people in front of me for over 20 minutes because the guy running the desk was unable to figure out how to use the cash drawer, computer, or cc machine. He also had difficulty speaking and understanding English. (He wasn’t foreign). The previous time I went here I had booked online only to arrive and find out they had no clue what I was talking about. After showing them my receipt, they took my money. Then had the audacity to tell me as I was about to tee off that they were too busy to fit us in. AFTER taking my money. So proceed with caution if...
Read moreToo bad google won’t let you give 0 stars. Played 18 holes Sunday May 21st and the big girl on the beer cart sold me a warm water. Every employee seemed miserable and none were pleasant to interact with. The fairways are mostly crabgrass with quite a few bare spots. They were hard packed clay in some areas and a muddy mess in others. If you like hitting off hard pan this is your place. You need a hammer to get your tee into the tee box. Every one of them were rock hard. The greens look diseased. Some are spongy and wet while others are bone dry. All look like they have fungus and each one putted at a different speed. There are homeless people living on hole 5/6 in tents. If the rents are too high in Chelsea, move out to a...
