I took my son here today for our 2nd visit and had a horrible experience with Steve and i literally left shaken out of anger!. I couldn't tell you if his adjustment is the problem or not because we walked out of the establishment. I was so happy yesterday on our first appointment with Dr. Val (even took advantage of the savings options and bought extra visits) who was amazing and knew how to handle her patient regardless of the barriers placed in front of her. Fast forward, 24 hours later, and utterly disgusted on day 2, where I have decided we will not be going back even after speaking with the owner in regards to how we were treated as a person/customer. They can keep their money!! Steve may be the best adjuster with the most patients they have, according to Tom, the owner, but you can have the best adjusters and mistreat too many patients and end up with no customers and no business. My son is 11 years old and never had an adjustment prior to yesterday, but was in severe pain, and we needed relief. Today, we proceeded in as directed from our first visit yesterday, where we saw Steve Gillis. He was beyond aggravated to do his job and displayed it through his attitude with my son. First of all,, he moves very quickly with no explanation, (not how you would handle any new patient new to chiropractic care and certanly not an adolescent they are your FUTURE business) He had little to no interest with our current pain concern, no interest in our status from yesterday's visit, proceded to crack my son's back, and I hit the brakes when he went to Crack his neck. My son was terrified at this point and asked to use the restroom where he literally looked at me and whispered "Please help, me" on his way there. I was in an absolute panic. Still giving Steve the benefit of the doubt because yes, I have been in the medical field and dealt with many doctors through experience, and realize even the best do not always have the most pleasant bedside manner, but what proceeded was astonishing. Steve tried to move my son to a different table for "drops", becoming more aggravated he asked "do you always allow your son to make decisions on doctors and dentist?" I almost lost it....calmly I said yes matter of fact I do and we are done here today." "Ok bye bye," he replied, as he literally placed his hand and waived. I was dumb founded. Long story short Stay clear!! See my review on yelp that was the first I wrote. I will deter everyone from here I can!!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBy far the worst chiropractic experience Iāve ever had. I recently popped my rib out of place. Unable to get to my trusted and regular chiropractor until next week, I decided to give this place a try as I figured it could only get better. They offer walk-in only. I arrive, and thereās nearly a 45 minute wait. Covid? Whatās that? 6 waiting chairs, with 8 people in waiting room, half of which didnt wear a mask. I filled out an intake survey, followed by much odder than usual liability waivers, including no insurance filing, if you had a car accident, or any injury in which you were given an insurance payout, you were kindly asked to find another chiropractor. The āon callā chiro, spent more time coughing and hacking, but luckily he at least had a mask. I put on the form my rib was out of place, he vaguely mentioned it while skimming through my sheet. After a while of odd uncomfortable rubbing of my back in between heavy breathing and coughs, I was āadjustedā but hardly felt that was the case, as I can relieve more discomfort myself with a foam roller. I asked what about my rib that was popped out, and he suggested I return a few times next week to take care of that problem. Iāll pass.
If you want a cheap cash pay chiro, this is the place for you. If you actually want to feel like youāre body is in good hands and being healed, go see Dr Mark Gutekunst at Chesapeake Wellness. Unfortunately this was a waste of time and Iāll be better off Monday when I get an appointment at Chesapeake Wellness...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have Digenerative Disc Disease. I had a slip 1 day before my vacation in Chesapeake for the first time since I had surgery a few years ago. Depressed, thinking I was on the road toward another surgery, I found this place, and stopped in before we even made it to our destination. I went in once more, then again as we got on the road to go home. I am not exaggerating when I say I considered completely moving to Chesapeake VA just because this place existed. I left for vacation feeling hopeless, and came back feeling almost brand new, with confidence that I will be back to normal within the week, versus the dark, 2 year journey, that I cannot afford, I thought I was about to face. Some people may not have the struggle of waiting for weeks in pain for insurance to tell you whether or not you are able to seek treatment at an affordable price, then to lose money while you wait because you can't even walk farther than 50 feet without needing to sit down, and you already live paycheck to paycheck. This place is...
