Uncle Dave's Kettle Korn - Chester — Local services in Chester

I used to see people leaving the shop next door where I get my dreads retwisted and coming back with bags of deliciously aromatic popcorn all the time. So I finally went there myself yesterday and good God it's a smorgasbord in there! Over (or about) 40 different flavors of kettle corn and probably six different sizes to choose from (although I could be wrong on that).

The young lady up front was very sweet and I took her advice to try samples before just walking out. I admitted I had a sweet tooth and she recommended the Lemon Pound Cake flavor since it was currently a big hit.

And boyyyyyyy she was right!

I bought a small bucket and demolished it by the end of the night with my brothers. We're officially hooked. So I'm definitely coming back to get some more for myself and my siblings. My only big issue with the place is with the manager.

While the young lady was talking to me, he aggressively barged into the store and began talking loud and harshly to her about orders.

While. I. Was. Still. Right. There.

Dude, I understand you're trying to get things pulled together before closing time, but your degree of tact is severely lacking. I sincerely felt sorry for her because I wouldn't have tolerated someone berating me about completing orders while I'm also attending a guest. One of the biggest no-no's in the customer service handbook: embarrassing or attacking your employee in front of customers.

So yeah, the popcorn is awesome, the immediate workers are great, but I'm sincerely questioning management's attitude issues. May I never run into that man again! Major kudos to the young lady for handling that...

The popcorn is great but the customer service isn't. I have ordered popcorn from this place on several occasions dating back from 2014. I just ordered again a week ago and when I arrived home I had fire ants all over and in my package. I called the location I ordered from to notify them and to ask due to the summer is there anything they could do different with their packages to keep ants or any insects out of the popcorn, for a future order? I was told no, then I was told they don't think there was anything they could do once it leaves there store but she would call Dave for me. Well when she called back she said Dave said next time I should be home when it arrives to keep the ants away from my package! 😠 I own my own business as well and this is not professional especially to a loyal customer... no I wasn't expecting anything free but maybe a 10% coupon on next order or something nice to say to keep me as a customer. I'm sorry uncle Dave your popcorn is great but your customer service isn't and you have lost a customer because due to my schedule I just might not be able to be home at that moment when it's delivered to keep the insects...

All I can say is OMGoodness🙌🏽 My neighbor gave me some of this popcorn it was called Chicago Style it was soooo tasty sweet salty just goodness in my mouth. I also tried her salt and vinegar popcorn which it’s one of my favorite potatoe chip flavor but never tried it on popcorn it was once again different but OMGoodness again. I never knew about this place I’ve been living here for 7 months from NJ and it’s literally down the street. So I will be going to Uncle Dave’s for some popcorn and I cannot wait to take my 3 grands too they’re going to loose their minds trying different flavors.
