My parents and I just left the store after being treated like absolute garbage at the store. Just had two people working there completely ignore whatever we were saying and saying stuff like āthe cards you are looking for are too cheap we only sell cards $10 and aboveā insinuating we cannot afford āexpensiveā cards. We were first āservedā by a tall tattooed and bearded man that continued harping on about only selling expensive cards, refusing to see the list of cards we wanted to buy, we asked if they had booster boxes or packs of the latest pokemon set and once again he said he didnāt know, and then he turned around to give us his back only to have a kid act the same way. The kid was exactly the same, he refused to check if they had any kind of variation of the cards we were looking for regardless of price and told us that if we wanted ācheapā cards we can go and look online for them. The store was empty, we were the only people there only to get profiled as if we canāt afford $15 cards either because of what we were wearing or because we were speaking Spanish when we entered. A few of them were even on their phones instead of asking if I needed anything. Then when I finally got help and asked for a price the guy said it's probably $20, but then realized it went up after looking at tcg players prices. He then went up from even that price. I asked for it for $4off the price he gave and instead of haggling he just straight up said no. Then when he heard my son had cards he might be willing to trade/sell he was all over trying to get his cards. I told my son don't bother because he wouldn't get anywhere near what his card would be worth based on how the employee acted. So we left without buying or trading anything. Would've bought the card and some sealed product had I been treated better by the staff. Won't be making that drive again. Why pay higher than tcgplayer if I can just buy straight from the site and not have to...

Longer story: At a card show with the kiddo. The kid picks out a card and it's listed at $27.00. Went to TCGplayer and it sells for $24.00. Asked if we could get it for $23.00 expecting maybe a counter offer to $24.00. Woman asks the man running the stand if we can do it and he just grunts "no". I show her the comp to show her I'm just trying to bring price down to TCG. She starts by saying they only do comps with gold star sellers. I show her it is a gold star seller and she says "oh, he only has 1400 sales, that's not enough to comp".
Again, it's your store. You can charge what you want. It's a free market. But to the gentlemen, being polite doesn't hurt and to the lady just admit that you want to charge more than other people are charging. If you're too ashamed to admit that then...
