A beautiful, mysterious, and imposing store with staff and products to match. One can only assume this is by design, from the precision-aligned bottles gracing the shelves, to the unwet stone basin with its perfect 90-degree angles, to the eerie dewey glow of the employees that makes you question whether you really can have too much of a good thing.

Not that you’ll ever know—at $50 a bottle the best you can do is grab the smallest size and hope whatever elixir’s inside works in tiny doses reserved for when you have guests over.

If you muster up the courage to summon a store associate, they’ll tell you the brand sells more than just soap. It will be hard to arrive at this conclusion on your own either because the room is too dark or the letters on the packaging are too small. You won’t know which it is and will feel pressured to purchase the one you’ve been squinting at for the past 5 minutes when the associate asks if you’d like that one rung up.

This was my first time visiting Aesop, and I couldn’t have had a better experience, all thanks to Andie! From the moment I walked in, they made me feel comfortable and took the time to really listen to what I needed. As someone new to the brand, I had a lot of questions, and Andie’s patience and thorough explanations made all the difference. It didn’t feel like I was just being sold something—they really cared about helping me find what was best for my routine.
