My first tattoo experience was here at code of conduct tattoo I got 3 tattoos from Klause and overall I’d say that he did a fine job. My first session with Klause was overall positive I got the tattoo and from then on I had the itch. My second tattoo was also with Klause at this point he was the only person that I’d let tattoo me. My third and final with Klause was the nail in the coffin. I got a three birds and clouds with shading on my forearm. Everything was cool until we came to the price. With the other tattoos that I’d gotten from Klause I’d gotten quotes on the price before getting them done for this one that was not the case. We finish the first session getting about 2 hours of solid work done and about an hour of him leaving to smoke we finally get to the payment. He tells me oh that’ll be 800 mind you we’re only about halfway done with all the shading and I have a whole other half to get to. Me being a naive and 18 it sounds like the fair price so I payed him but it left me with a pit in my stomach. I’m a broke 18 year old who just had to spend 800 on three birds a few shaded clouds with awkward shapes going up my arm. I was disappointed to say the least. I was like well if that’s all I have to pay then that’s whatever I guess so I come in for my second session and we get to the payment and believe it or not he tells me it’ll be another 800. When I tell you my soul left my body I couldn’t be more dead. At that point I just wanted to be done with the experience so I paid him and left. Don’t get me wrong the shading and line work are good but now that I’ve gotten many more tattoos after this and asking them if that was normal and being told that I was finessed it hurt. Moral of the story Klause is a good artist and a good guy but he did essentially empty out a child’s bank account on a tattoo that was max 4 hours purely...
Read moreSummary: Best tattoo experience possible! I couldn't be happier and think Jaime Navarro from Code of Conduct is one of the best tattoo artists in Chicago.
Detailed: I wanted to work with Jaime Navarro after months of researching as I'm extremely picky and this would be a memorial tattoo for my service dog. The emotional importance was huge, but I also have a background in design and art so I knew it would be challenging for me to find someone I could trust in the design process and execution of what I consider wearable art. Jaime is a great listener and was very patient with the design process. He's a very talented artist in multiple mediums and techniques. He nailed the final outcome in a way I never imagined. I'm so happy and all my friends and family are amazed at the accuracy in what he was able to capture. The shop is clean at all times, as both my husband and I visited multiple times and always found hygiene to be impecable. I also love the aesthetic of the place. Easy parking nearby, appointment only and multiple artists available for a...
Read moreI (actually my wife & I) recently had the pleasure of getting a tattoo from Jaime, and I can't recommend his work enough. From the moment I walked into his studio, I knew I was in good hands.
Jaime is not just incredibly skilled, but he is also very empathetic. He took the time to listen to my ideas and understood the significance behind the design I wanted. His attention to detail was incredible, and it truly shows in the final result.
Jaime didn't rush through the process or try to push me into something that wasn't quite what I wanted. Instead, he designed until every line, every shading, every detail was exactly how I envisioned it.
It's obvious, that Jaime isn't just in it for a quick dollar. He genuinely cares about his craft and making a connection with his clients.
If you're looking for a tattoo artist who is not only skilled but also empathetic, detail-oriented, and dedicated to creating the perfect design, look no further than Jaime. Thank you very much, Jaime -...
