As a delivery driver, I had a miscommunication with the maintenance team. I was told by my customer to leave their delivery in the lobby and the receptionist at the lobby desk was alright with it too. However, the maintenance team told me it was not okay to leave the delivery in the lobby in an extremely hostile and aggressive manner. I tried my best to de-escalate the situation but the maintenance team grew even more hostile towards me. Racist and ignorant attitudes and tones were weaponized against the receptionist and as I was leaving they told me, "You better run, boy."
