For our 4 day stay the ladies at the front desk, valet and housekeeping were awesome! The dinning staff was TERRIBLE! The first night there we had dinner at the hotel. We watched the waiter grab my husbands plate from the counter and pick up his garlic bread from the side of the plate and place it on the middle of the plate! (This is after we seen him cleaning tables and working the register) we told him about it and he took the plate back and told the cook, the cook looks at us with a face like “Really” and they stand there and talk for a few mins before he goes to the back and fixes another plate. The next night we just decided to go to the bar before we headed out and have a few shots. One of the shot glasses had a huge dust ball floating in the patron. We asked for another shot got that no problem! We had 3 shots each. On the last shot I asked for a lemon because they were out of limes, he hands it to me with his bare hands and then RIGHT IN FRONT OF US pulls out his canker sore ointment and with his finger puts it in his mouth and says “Man this thing is killing me and this isn’t working” so that tells me he had been applying it all day while making drinks and handling lemons and cherries! We tell him we’re ready to pay and he actually charged us for 8 shots when we had 6. I guess he charged for the shot he had to remake and idk where the other charge came from. We just paid the tab and left to avoid our night be ruined arguing with him about it. We just decided to just stay away from the dinning area after that. Our overall stay was amazing and it’s right where you want to be in the middle of everything downtown! I would’ve given five stars but the lack of sanitation while handling food, rude kitchen staff, dirty shot glass that we were charged for and watching the bartender applying his canker sore meds while still making drinks and handing out lemons and cherries WITHOUT washing his hands was extremely unsatisfying! We stay at Hilton’s every time we travel and this was the worst...
Read morePros. Affordable and very close to Riverwalk and restaurant's. Cons, no outdoor seating area. Not in front or behind or anywhere. Super small area inside to sit. When we checked in our room on the third floor, it had no electricity. Maintenance man had to come to our room and turn the breaker on. This also happened again on the morning of checkout we woke up and nothing, no electricity at all. Had to call the front desk and the maintenance man had to come back and turn the breaker on. Each time it was a different maintenance man. The last maintenance man, and older gentleman was drilling us as if we had something enormous plugged in. We literally only slept in the room. I had a cell phone charger plugged in and so did my partner. The refrigerator didn't work the whole entire time. My assumption is it was not plugged in however you could not move the entire unit the refrigerator was under in order to check. Overall the room was clean enough and the bed was clean enough, it had no bugs or anything like that which is honestly my number one worry at hotels. This trip, to this hotel, taught me that if I want an area to sit without being bombarded by vacationers or the homeless that I should definitely look at reviews and their websites to see if they have a sitting area away from the hustle and the bustle of City life. The check-in and check out process was smooth. The women behind the front desk were always very nice. The men behind the front desk were always very solace and didn't even crack a smile. The hotel has a restaurant, but it was not open. I think it's still closed due to the coronavirus. This hotel is adjacent to a 24-hour 7-Eleven and across the street from Morton's steakhouse. I had so much trouble finding a decent cup of coffee and I ended up getting a coffee for Morton's. This hotel is very centrally located to a ton of bars and restaurants of all price ranges. It is not too far from a bus stop or a...
Read moreIf I could, I'd rate this hotel and their management ZERO stars. I booked a room for one night in JUNE 2021 and it said: "city view" with pictures of the river and the only view I had was of the building next door. They were only nice enough to provide a corkscrew and that was about it. At 3 AM, I left because I had about 5 bites over my back and arms and when I went to check under the covers there were two bed bugs. I've seen bed bugs in the past before and have also been bit by them so I am very familiar with them. I killed them and blood gushed out and I left them on the very white sheets the hotel had. As gross as it will sound, I regret not taking them with me and showing them to the managers but even then I don't think it would've convinced them to give me a refund. When checking out, I let the receptionist know and she said the manager will give me a call the next morning issuing me a refund. A day or two passes and no call so I decided to call and they tell me they had an inspection done and it came back negative for bed bugs. After sending them videos and pictures they still refused to issue a refund. After going back and forth with management, Candace, for about a month and a half I took it up with corporate and still no refund. It is now SEPTEMBER and I still have no refund. A multi-billionaire company won't issue me back $145. Today, I decided to finally call back the hotel directly and Candace declines my call. Not to mention, I was also waiting on a call back from the front desk manager, Elliot, who when I explained my situation was completely rude and showed no empathy. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although the front desk was always nice to me, the managers are complete GARBAGE and absolutely disgusting so please please please AVOID. I never write reviews, but this was the worst experience I've ever had...
