I have been in customer service for over 18 years of my life getting rated at my company by JD POWER so I am very well familiar with the customer service atmosphere and honestly I have had some great experiences at this place and bad as well . Some of the waiters and waitresses are very kind and pleasant as well as Hispanic girl host at the front. (I wish I will remember their names). I had a gathering 1 month and half ago and the waiter (latin guy medium shape) amazing gave us such a fun vibe when delivering our shots. I have always, always had an issue with employees not smiling … because part of customer service is having a smile on your face. We all have bad days but somehow we have to suck it up and deliver the best even if it’s a rough day. I don’t know her name and honestly I’m sure you don’t need it because if I notice the issue with this individual everyone else notices it too. But her “kittty ears “ behind the bar NO SMILE .. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS mest up attitude . I recorded her 4 times interacting with us never did she approach us with a positive attitude or even a smile on her. I also kindly asked for a song and for some reason THERE WAS AN ISSUE with me asking for a song and it became a big deal, I am choosing broken English among competition in the area what’s wrong for asking for a song and having a fit in front of the clients who are choosing YOU above all. I work near by and some of my clients and people who work near by also feel like “some” are not skilled to be working here . “It’s downtown” give the best you can , even if you have to fake it TILL YOU MAKE IT THROUGH THE DAY. It’s not the owner because WE know the owner (s) but better/skilled management will...
Read moreCame to this establishment after hearing good things about it from my family. The food was great but the service wasn't. I visited with 2 of my friends at around 9pm on a Saturday.
We asked to sit outside but unfortunately outdoor seating hours were over. We then asked for a table inside. The maitre d asked us "are you sure?" As if she didn't want us to eat there.
We were pointed to a general location to sit and were told our server will be with us. We sat at the table for a while not knowing the menus are online. It would have been nice for someone to tell us the menu is online.
The bussers were running in and out of the back with dirty dishes. A busser also brought us our dishes instead of our waiter. Do you think the busser had clean hands after clearing the dirty tables? Our server was busy chatting with his coworkers.
After eating we asked for separate checks, a pretty reasonable thing for college students to do. The waiter nodded his head in acknowledgment and came back after five minutes with only one check. We had to wait for him to come back to clarify yet again that we want separate checks. Seemingly annoyed the server asked us what our dishes were again and took his time to come back with the separate checks.
The bathroom was not clean, wet floor around urinals, smell, and the towel dispenser had the towels in upside-down, making it difficult to dispense.
The music was at a good volume level for the hour. They were playing mostly Mexican music which fit the theme of the restaurant, but there were some songs that were entirely inappropriate to not only the theme but also just in general.
The food was amazing. The...
Read moreIf you're looking for the perfect spot to kick back with friends, enjoy amazing food, and soak in a hip atmosphere, Broken English Taco Pub is the place to be! I recently visited on a Thursday for their incredible $3 taco deal, and let me tell you, the tacos did not disappoint.
The carne asada taco was juicy and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt and spices, topped with fresh cilantro and onions, all wrapped in thick, homemade corn tortillas that gave it a hearty, authentic feel. Another standout was their BBQ-style Brisket taco, slow-cooked to perfection with flavors bursting in every bite, paired with sweet red onions on a soft flour tortilla. Every bite dripped flavorful juices down my lips. You can’t leave without trying their tortilla chips and guacamole—the chips were warm and crispy, and the guac was loaded with fresh tomatoes and onions.
Their happy hour drinks are just awesomeness. The Piña Colada was delicious, bursting with fresh fruit flavors and a good kick of tequila, while the house margarita hit the spot—chilled perfectly and balanced with just the right blend of tequila and triple sec.
The vibe at Broken English is unmatched. The atmosphere is hip and casual, with great music playing through the speakers and an infectious energy that keeps the place lively. The cool Christmas style lights are a great touch. Whether you're there for tacos or drinks, it’s a spot that keeps you coming back for...
