Honestly, I think Elms College is cursed. From the moment I started, nothing seemed to go right. The people were rude and unhelpful, making the environment really toxic. The dorms were in terrible shape — uncomfortable and poorly maintained. The dining hall was hardly ever open, which made things even more frustrating. Trying to get any help was a nightmare because no one answers the phones or responds in a timely manner. The tuition is outrageously high, especially for the quality of education and facilities they offer.
They talk a good game when it comes to enrollment, but once you’re there, the reality is completely different. What’s really disappointing is how poorly the athletics program is run. Most colleges have strong support and trust in their division III athletics, but at Elms, it feels completely disorganized and uncaring. They are lowly ranked in pretty much every sport and proud of it. It also seems like everyone just gets a handout instead of earning their way, which lowers the standards overall. To make matters worse.
Nancy Davis, Assistant Dean of Academic Student Success, openly talks about student's education needs and grades to other students, which is unprofessional and breaches privacy. On top of all that, the whole experience seriously affected my mental health. I felt unsupported and stressed throughout my time there. Even after I left, I dealt with lung problems that lasted for months, which I believe were related to the dorm conditions.
Overall, this place just sucks. Save your money and avoid it if you can. There are so many better options especially in the state of...
