Where do I start? Let me begin by warning you, I absolutely despise shopping. I do not like waiting. I do not like salesman. I don't like going to browse for one thing, but becoming the target of suggestions such as remodeling my entire home, and spending my life savings on who knows what, just to be drained of all that I call mine; and by someone who probably won't remember my name the next time they see me.
I decided to start my quest at C&J Electric, in downtown Chillicothe. I figured I would break the ice of this shopping situation in a store that I could browse quickly, and not get lost in, and I sure am glad I did.
I did something I never get to do anywhere else that I shop, and parked right by the door! I walked into a buzzing little business and was greeted immediately by a man that has since been very helpful in my next appliance interest, that I am looking very forward to having delivered by the weekend. He was juggling a customer and a phone call as I browsed and was next approached by another employee, whom I later learned was his supervisor. (I must admit, it feels so very strange to assign them titles such as "employee", and "supervisor". Because of the friendly folks at C&J, I've felt more like a family member than a customer, than anywhere else I've ever been to shop.) She was most knowledgeable about all of what their store had on display, and some of the best tips to show me on all of these new features packaged into appliances these days. She told me also that C&J have their very own service repair technicians that come right to my home, if and when I ever need them to. This is something I wish I would have known when my wife purchased our laundry set from a big box store in town, that hands out a phone number when you need a part or repair, rather than helps right away. It seems repairing things has become a dying art, so to find that C&J services the things they sell, and at no charge while under warranty, really shows me they are selling more than appliances; they're selling a brand, a family brand, and for me, there's no other place to explore. 5 stars all around. 5 star products, and 5 star people. Goodluck in your next adventure, and thanks for taking a moment...
Read moreWe used to recommend C & J Electric to everyone and were impressed by their service. We contacted them to repair our dishwasher and after a second trip out they ordered a part. After going 3 months with no answers, no part, no communication unless I initiate, and no accountability, we are done with them! I even went in person to the store and waited for nearly an hour to speak to the owner only for her to blow me off and relay information to the salesman to tell me instead of dealing with me herself. I shop local to support our local small businesses, but I expect high quality service. If I want to be blown off and frustrated I can save money at any big box store.
We were given specific dates the part would be in stock 3 different times. It seemed like they were just trying to appease us by making things up. I am extremely dissatisfied with our service through C and J Electric after this debacle. It is clear to us that something is wrong, either I am being lied to or the store is about to go out of business and we are getting strung along. Either way, the lack of transparency, communication, and urgency to get our dishwasher repaired after months of calling the store for updates and showing up in person even is unacceptable.
We will no longer use C & J Electric for any new purchasers or repairs. Another company got the part ordered and replaced within 3 business days. This is the kind of service I used to get with C & J. Sad that they have...
