First, I do want to share that the store has a nice selection of items. I stopped in (12:40pm on 3/21) to look for a gift for my boyfriend, which I shared with the two associates. I didn’t see exactly what I was looking for (ray bans with any kind of red detail). I shared that with the associates, but said I’d look around to see if anything else would make a great gift. That’s when things went south. One of the associates started going off about “Jews” taking over a neighborhood in Lakewood (I think she said it’s a community in NJ). She said they mysteriously acquire money l, buy up all the houses and increase the pricing so that no one else can come in. She then shared that they aren’t the “good or nice Jews,” but the “rude” kind (BIG YIKES). It was so awkward that I immediately had to leave. I didn’t even get to say “thank you” to the other associate that opened the sunglasses case for me. Although the one associate saying what could be interpreted as antisemitic verbaige was directing the remarks to the other employee, the other employee did not engage with her and did not agree with or echo what the other one was saying. Just very awkward and I hope she never says stuff like that again in front of customers. It would’ve been really awkward if someone from that community was...
Read moreNO RETURNS at all and no dressing rooms. I got stuff from their 50% off hall, tried it on back at our Airbnb, and came back to return. The manager had already left, and they said they couldn't do returns without a manager. They said I could only exchange for size, but I already picked through the 50% off stuff. I came back the next day to speak to a manager, and she said they dont do returns. Why didn't they just tell me that the day prior, so I didn't waste more time and gas coming back again??? They didn't have the size I needed. I guess it's normal for this town, but I've never been to a store where you CAN'T TRY ON merchandise, but I also can't return if it doesn't fit right???? At least the other stores I went to had dressing rooms (and better deals). This place is cute for a magnet or trinket, but I'd recommend going to a different store for clothes, like Sunsations or the little one on Main Street, which also had...
Read moreGot a $50 umbrella (not the cheap $20 ones) on our way to the beach. The umbrella had no effective way of securing the top piece to the bottom half, and 15 minutes later a good wind took it off and it landed 3 feet from a young kid. No one else had any issues with their umbrellas so it wasn’t just extreme wind. The bottom portion screwed in well but the device that should secure both pieces of piping together was no where near adequate.
Took it back maybe 3 hours after purchasing it and they wouldn’t let me return it. I had to take store credit. It’s their store policy (then it should be clearly stated) and I think since the product they sold me was defective and almost resulted in an injury I would have been liable for, they should have made...
