Update: Not only did they charge me for the personal training sessions that I never had, but they also charged me the $60 membership. Did I also mention that they told me to write a letter to the manager about why I want to cancel my membership? Honestly, guys, if you're looking for a better gym, my recommendations are 24-hour Fitness, The Gym, and Chuze Fitness. At least they won't STEAL YOUR MONEY, and the gym is cleaner, and if you have an issue, the owners take the time to answer you.
To the Esteemed Members of LA Fitness,
It is with utmost urgency and deep concern that I write to you today, Esteemed Members of LA Fitness. I regret to inform you that my experience with LA Fitness Gym has been marred by a significant lack of communication, empathy, and respect for its members.
I fell ill and was hospitalized with pneumonia and COVID-19, which required me to cancel my gym membership. Despite my numerous attempts to cancel over the phone, I was informed by the gym's representatives that I would need to visit the facility in person. Despite my repeated explanations of my condition and my request that my mother be authorized to cancel the membership on my behalf, I was met with an unyielding refusal.
While I appreciate the concern expressed by the gym's representatives regarding their own health and safety, I must express my disappointment with the lack of empathy that was displayed for my own situation. As a result, I am now seeking a refund of the money that was taken from my account fraudulently. Specifically, the money was taken for eight personal training sessions that I never received. I was told that I would need to pay $199 for these sessions, yet when I attempted to schedule them, I was informed that my phone number was incorrect. However, I find it unlikely that the gym was unable to contact me, given that they were able to call me to offer the promotion in the first place.
Upon discovering this fraudulent activity, I immediately contacted my bank to report the matter, and they were able to assist me to some extent. I also contacted LA Fitness to inform them about the miscommunication that had occurred, and I expected that they would show some empathy and understanding by refunding my money. However, their response was nothing short of a disappointment, characterized by an unyielding greed for money rather than a willingness to assist their members.
In conclusion, I implore you to exercise caution when dealing with LA Fitness Gym and to be mindful of the lack of communication, empathy, and respect for members, which has been demonstrated in my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice place! Good amenities, variety of classes, and cleanliness is up to par! The only complaint I truly have is the staff. I am a young healthy person and I signed up for this gym around October of last year. There is a complimentary consultation with staff with every membership. (I think) I go into the gym in December for this consultation to discuss training and whatnot. I was feeling a little under the weather but I didnāt want to reschedule since itās December, there is holidays, I still had work, I had family members to see. The staff member named Julia had helped me through the consultation. She did not greet me warmly. Thatās fine, everyone has their days. We sit down to discuss fitness programs and a weekly regime that would be easy for me to follow. At the end, she wanted to show me a demonstration but before then, I remember very explicitly she asks me, āAre you high?ā Implying that I looked like I had smoked before coming in. I simply told her that I was feeling under the weather and that I would like to leave the consultation at once. She quickly apologizes and offers to reschedule another day. I decline and leave. I had also lost my wallet and phone in November so I would tell the front desk my phone number. It doesnāt make the sign in any more difficult but there was an older Latina lady who looks like a manager, who gave me a hard time about not having my sign in code on my phone. She tells me that I will not be allowed into the gym without the mobile app sign in next time she sees me. Understandable yet another unprofessional interaction with staff. Gyms are supposed to be a welcoming setting where people come to better themselves. With such a beautiful gym as LA Fitness, the unpleasant staff truly does make a difference. I hope to see either an improvement in staff or I would look into a different...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMaybe better than average? I do really wish they would hire more cleaning staff to take care of the locker rooms especially. They usually have one on duty for a very large facility I always feel sorry for this person because the patrons are slobs. Also and many of the clubs they don't understand they need to put a shot of bleach in each and every drain. They have black flies breeding in the drains and they are clinging to the shower walls. These are biting black flies. Not good. During their peak hours they absolutely need to have at least two cleaning staff on duty. I mean more than just one male and female. Also wish the patrons would shower before using the Jacuzzi or sauna or swim pool. I see many people here who don't do this. Sometimes I ask him sometimes they get hostile. It's just what you do in a large facility like this. It's common courtesy. Maybe some signage dangling right in your face before you enter each place. Also some crazy patrons will be drying their sweaty shirt in the sauna, it's disgusting. Anytimes the sauna smells like somebody poured urine on the heat mechanism I don't use this on a much anymore for this reason. Most of those at the front desk would like to help, but they cannot be everywhere all the time. All the patrons pay their dues so we're all equal and everyone should respect each other and take care with the facility and the equipment including the sauna and the jacuzzi and the swimming pool. Some people think they change the water. They just add chemicals to kill the...
